alright mannamedtruth, here's some straight truth about the lowdown involving black swan.
I finished it.  had time absorb it.  it was okay.  definitely no requiem.  Natalie Portman lived the role of the swan queen.  but in the end the shit was about ballet.  drama driven bitches with eating disorders and crazy mom's (whoops spoiler alert).

the thing that bums out most about this movie is, is that it got Portman prego and engaged in real life. the dude who plays the lead guy dancer knocked her up K'fed style.  which totally fucks my 10year plan up.

It was Swan Lake on a light dose of mushrooms.  that's how I'd describe it.  6.7/10.   If I can avoid I'll never watch this movie again, but not because it's bad, because it's about swan lake.

:D  See, and I totally dig on ballerina movies, but I gotta agree with you about the bolded.  High concept Lifetime movie.

I totally didn't know Natalie Portman got pregnant on this movie!  He must have been helping her tap into her inner Black Swan, huh.   ;)

I'm not sure if it was during shooting or not, but she is definitely prego now and it's because of the dude she dances with the whole movie.   fucked up shit.

Inception - My second time watching it, and wasn't really feeling it much. It's definitely way overrated, and might be my least favorite from Nolan. Sorry Headdy but don't really feeling like reading through your Inception thread.

Exit Through The Gift Shop - Documentary? Mockumentary? Not sure but thought it was entertaining. I like the parts about Banksy the most and wasn't that impressed by some of the other street artists.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Hey, if you dont like it you dont like it. I still need to watch it again to see how it holds up a 2nd time, but most people who have seen it again have said its even better the 2nd time. The one thing Im not sure about is how Leo's monologue to Juno on how everything works will hold up since going in the 2nd time I already understand most of that and that sequence was kind of lengthy. I cant remember the last time I saw a movie and totally got lost in it, its been at least a few years (probably A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints or Before The Devil Knows Youre Dead), and I think thats the biggest key to greatness in a film, so I definitely dont think its overrated.

Saw The Fighter yesterday and thought it was solid.  Mark Wahlberg was typically great but Christian Bale just ate the screen.  He stole pretty much every scene he was in.  The fight scenes were phenomenal.

If I were born into that family, I might just have to killed myself though.

Must go see Black Swan and True Grit this weekend.

I thought I'd like it more the second time, Nolan's movies are rewarding to re-watch. I'm just gonna try to be honest with myself and not like it because so many people think it's great. A movie about being in someone's dreams appeals to me, but there's a lot of information to process and  didn't care enough about the story or characters enough to get involved. I think this could've been a great idea for a TV show or miniseries or something.

have you seen the inception south park episode?

I think you and Trey Parker would get along haha.  Inception is a hollywood blockbuster done right.  which is rare.

Black Swan: A very good film. Dark and racy and for the life of me, I don't know why parents thought it was a good idea to bring their pre-teen kids with them. Oh, and Vincent Cassel (awesome French actor) and Mila Kunis steal the film.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: It was generally excellent. The acting was great and I loved the overall brooding tone of the film. It has Two Towers/Empire Strikes Back vibe.

Buried - 5/10: It was an hour and a half blackberry commercial.

I'm sorry to say my wife and  I could not finish Inception (and I bought the damn thing on bluray, too).  It was like George Lucas writing dialogue for The Matrix.  It looks great, and maybe it was our frame of mind, but wasn't happening.

I don't think so.  We might give it a try again tonight.  I think the key to this film is, as alluded to in my previous post, frame of mind.  I also think it would be a different experience  if I watched it alone.  Still, last night the dialogue came across as silly.  Its visually spectacular, especially on bluray.

On another note, at the same time I got the Inception BD disc, I picked up Boondock Saints 2 on bluray.  I really liked the first and was disappointed in this sequel.  The female cop was too much over the top and the film seemed too long (never a good sign).  The extras have been fun to watch.  The fan scene for this franchise is pretty strong, the main reason these films have ever seen the light of day.

Well you know what to expect now, at least. It might not be a bad thing either because now youll have a general idea of how everything works going in. Definitely make it thru the whole thing though. You still have to pay attention to the 2nd half, but compared to how much you have to absorb and follow in the first half of the movie, the 2nd half is the payoff and like 90 minutes of non-stop, 3-level simultaneous action.

As for Boondock Saints, really liked it when I first saw it, and bought it, but it kind of bored me the last couple times I tried watch it and I didnt even finish it. Dafoe is badass in that movie. I dont plan on watching the sequel because all Ive heard is that it sucks.

So "screeners" are supposed to be what, like DVD quality?? If I d/l them can I burn them to a DVD and just watch them on my TV (if I can figure out how to do that!)

screeners are basically copies studios give out to different places.  usually they'll have a watermark that pops every now and then but the quality is good as fuck.  the quality varies.  R5's are similar, they're usually around the same quality, sometimes the audio of R5's blow because they'll have to mix it with other sources.  but overall, Screeners and R5's are in my eyes basically as good as a dvdrip if the movie isn't out on dvd yet.  it's as good as you can get leak wise.

as for watching it on your dvd player it depends.  I've got a dvd player that plays divx files, I can just burn a data disc with the avi file and it works.  if your dvd player can't do that there are programs that will burn avi to dvd, but you might have to convert it.

Just curious if any of you Fighter fans are also fans of Mickey Ward? I used to love watching him box, especially the legendary wars he had with the late great Arturo Gatti.
