Daybreakers: Good cast and stylistic directing with an interesting Omega Man-type plot involving humans-turned-vampires because of a virus. Vamps are the dominant species and harvest humans in giant factory farms. Lots of parallels to modern society including our own food consumption, oil dependency and an inevitable bleak future. If the budget were bigger, this film would have been kick ass. Instead, it's a decent page-turner.

Yeah, I liked this as well. Hawke and Dafoe movies are almost always worthwhile.

FYI it was streaming on Netflix as of last month.

I'm not sure if it was streaming north of the border. Netflix is newish to Canada, but it may be on it (I don't use the service - I still rent and have many movie channels). I'm loaded with cable and it's been offered on one of our national cable TV networks for over a year (that's how I saw it). It's a good looking film with a lively soundtrack.

Cedar Rapids. Enjoyed it a lot. There were several laugh out loud moments that caused my wife to stare at me like I was deranged. The few Wire references were pretty funny also. Plus Ann Hache made a great redhead...

This movie surprised me. Wasn't just a silly comedy, but actually had a few deep moments. Ed Helms should get away from The Office and make more stuff like this.

I sat through 3+ hours of The Dark Knight on TNT. Not sure why, when I think I own it, but it's hard to turn away from this movie. It's incredible every single time. The scene in the middle with the truck and Gordon and the Batpod....cripes. It got me pumped for The Dark Knight Rises.

Anyone else dissappointed in the announcement of a Blade Runner sequel? First I heard it was a remake and almost bought a plane ticket to hollywood to punch Ridley Scott in the face; and while at it, I might as well kick his brother Tony in the nards as he is considering remaking the Wild Bunch, prob my favorite western....but seriously Blade Runner is such a great standalone movie....

.......ultimately sequels, remakes and re-imaginings (a la Smurfs, and the proposed "Battleship: The Game," the movie) have become the ruin of cinema as an art form....

I have no interest in the sequel. Blade Runner is my favorite movie of all time.

I'm sick of re-boots and remakes.

is harrison ford in it?  is he contractually obligated to be in these new shitty versions of old classics like indiana jones and blade runner?  I like quite a few riddle scott movies but I don't really get the point of doing this one.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is one my favorite books of all time.  I'll still watch it but it can't touch the original.

I can't wait for the remake of Forrest Gump with Jackie Chan

Oooohhh! I heard of this re-boot! It's when Forest single handedly takes down the Viet Cong with his long lost wing chun technique. Then he visits the White House & gives LBJ an atomic wedgie for not having enough Dr. Peppers on hand. Looks awesome :P

It was reported that Blade Runner will not be a re-make. It'll either be a prequel or sequel. Harrison won't be in it either. If Scott can get back his old mojo, I hope it'll be on this project instead his impending return to the Alien franchise. Blade Runner is one of my all-time favourite films too, but a sequel or prequel doesn't bother me in the least given the original was a box-office disaster and it's still a challenge to watch, whatever version. Also, if the new film bombs, it won't diminish the greatness of the original (see: The Day The Earth Stood Still, Burton's Planet of the Apes, the last three Star Wars flicks etc...).

ManNamedTruth

I like Blade Runner but I think it's overrated. There's not much to the plot. Harrrison Ford tracks down the replicants and that's about it. It didn't seem like the replicants had a plan or mission, just there to cause mischief in general. The overall style - cinematrography and sound were the best things going for it.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Bronson: Tom Hardy is excellent in the lead role in this stylistic and challenging, but ultimately satisfying fictionalized biography of UK's most violent criminal, Michael Gordon Peterson, aka Charles Bronson - yes, the very same Charles Bronson (Peterson was asked to change his name by his fight promotor). Scenes of senseless brutality are underscored with touches of whimsy, which makes the film easier to watch. Hardy is amazing in a real star-making role. Unfortunately, Bronson does a good enough job that the real Bronson will likely become a hero to some, which he clearly is not. Still, worth checking out to open-minded art-house types.

I finally saw The Usual Suspects, and it may honestly be the best movie I've ever seen.

This has also been at the top of my Netflix streaming queue for awhile. I tried to watch it a month or so ago, but something was up with the stream for about a week. Certainly still plan on watching.

A few weeks ago, I went into watching this and Hall Pass with middling eexpectations, and thought both were hilarious. Watched Cedar Rapids a few nights later with my Dad, and thought it was just as funny. John C Reilly, as usual, kills it. Im pretty sure he said something funny in just about every scene. The rest of the cast definitely had their moments as well. Loved Clay Davis in that everyday guy role. RONIMAL!!

Something tells me you would also enjoy Hall Pass, a lot. And your wife would also probably make the same faces and some obscene jokes.
