i heard he turned his beard hair into guitar strings and that's why they still sounded good in chicago and new york, the beard is still there, just on the guitar and not on his face

It makes him look younger.  If you get used to people with facial hair and they change it up, they look like a babe from Look who's Talking or something.  I think change is good though.  Always keep them on their toes.

I know, I know.  I almost resorted to bringing the little one with me, but I figured that would be frowned upon.  However, if she saw Jim, she would say, "Look Daddy, there's your morning jacket!"

The bluegrass thing isn't happening on Thursdays anymore at Bearno's.  I don't know if it's because of the weather or booking or because I don't go much anymore.  ;)  But hopefully, when things slow down for me a little, I can get a bit of a social life back in order.
