I personally find this band and Johnette Napolitano brilliant. Bloodletting is damn near a perfect album.

Anyone else enjoy them? Hate them? Stories of them live (I missed the boat on seeing them)? Fav ablums, song, etc. etc. etc.

It's been slow so maybe this will spark up some conversation.

buaawwww

Wow I saw the name for this one and it immediately brought me back!  Bloodletting is an absolute classic.  I wasn't huge on anything they did after it... but start to finish, this album is just incredible to say the least.  Also I heard the other day for the first time in YEARS Concrete Blonde's "Everybody Knows" from the Pump Up The Volume" soundtrack... forgot how incredible that song is.

They cover if Everybody Knows is great. I actually throw that soundtrack on once in a while. Walking In London is pretty good, but yeah, Bloodletting is their peak.

And if I seem to be confused
I didn't mean to be with you.
And when you said I scared you,
Well I guess you scared me too.

I told the priest, don't count on any second coming.
God got his ass kicked the first time he came down here slumming.
He had the balls to come, the gall to die and then forgive us.
Now I don't wonder why, I wonder what he thought it would get us!

"Tomorrow Wendy" from Bloodletting gives me major chills.
"demon eyes are watchin' everywhere"

Ohhhh you were a vampire and baby I'm the walking dead.  :o

Love is the ghost haunting your head
Love is the killer you thought was your friend
Love is the creature who lives in the dark
Sneaks up, will stick you and painfully pick you apart

wow......

Personal opinion - I am generally not a huge fan of female rock singers.  That being said, Johnette's voice, well, she gives me shivers. Loved Bloodletting, Walking in London and Everybody Knows (but how can you go wrong with a Leonard Cohen song?).  Used to have a video release of them from around the time that Walking in London came out that I wore out from watching so much.
