was the best group of the '90s (& even those of you who don't - you fools!) --- pitchfork.tv is showing Slow Century for one week only.  I've never been able to wrangle enough bones to pick up that fancy DVD set, so there goes my evening.

Maybe you missed penny and I's mini-discussion in the draft thread yesterday, but we both kind of agreed Malkmus' solo stuff >/= Pavement

I love Crooked Rain Crooked Rain, but after that....

Cut the shit & start watching this; it's great.

No shit...I only speak da truf

Ill try to watch it though..However, every time I try to do/find something on pitchfork, it never works.

They must have been informed that I think their CD reviewing blows

I chose to ignore your collective lunacy.   ;)

Face the Truth is excellent (and my favourite SM album), but I'd put it behind CRCR, S&E, WZ & BtC.  It's about on par with TT.  Glad Janet Weiss is in the Jicks, but RET didn't do very much for me.

Good day sir!

(I need some back-up, where the hell is Jenny & Brian?)

"I think I was smoking a lot of grass back then, but to me they sounded like hits."

;D

I wasnt saying that because I dont like those other records per se, I personally just enjoy Pig Lib more than every Pavement album outside of CRCR (whick I like, I like a lot...1 of those perfect albums)

I probably havent even listened to Face the Truth enough to give it a verdict (and I just reread your post..I coulda swore you changed SM's best from Pig Lib to FTT  >:()

I shall revisit the other Pavement albums because I honestly dont listen to them all that much, because like I said, when I do its either CRCR or Pig Lib  :)

Alright, I hear you & will let things slide.  Not going to lie, it took me a long time to really fall in love with Pavement, so glad I did.

You caught me!  I always get Face the Truth & Pig Lib confused until I pull out my albums & look at the cover.  Pig Lib's my second favourite SM album, probably tied with the S/T.

Man, they looked like they would've been a blast to see live.   :'(

Really? Real Emotional Trash is way up there for me... Top 5 of this year, for sure. I did however, see SM & The Jicks on this tour and it wasnt that great. OK, but not great.

Mr. True coming through in the clutch!  That record's so scattered & so amazing.

C'mon Jenny & Brian, I can't do this alone!

I like when a band takes a chance like this, and it works. I think they were heavily dosed, too. It took awhile to get into due to how many tracks there are but it was worth it.
