Christmas time always reminds me of David Bowie and I can't remember the last Bowie thread, so, here's to Bowie and all that magic he put out. He's one of my favorites! (and Mick Ronson's guitar is one of the greatest rock vehicles ever)

You like Rock And Roll Suicide so go with Ziggy Stardust - it's a must have classic.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

"Queen Bitch" (from Hunky Dory)
"Always Crashing In The Same Car" (from Low)
"Fame" (from Young Americans)

Yup, because nothing says "yuletide" like androgynous glam rock. So what is Christmas like in the Tracy household?
Say friend, you got any more of that good sasparilla?

It was during all that free time during Christmas break in high school that my friends and I rode around a lot, listening to Bowie.

Ziggy Stardust was on the other night and I was thinking the same exact thing.  I really miss Mick, may he rest in peace!

Hey man you can't leave the Bing/Bowie "Little Drummer boy/Peace on Earth" duet off any Christmas must playlist!  ;)

Time to give this thread some life.  I got an email about the new Bowie album and checked out the song posted with it - "The Stars (Are Out Tonight)".  I thought the song (and the video, below) were excellent.  It revived my desire to dig back into my Bowie collection.  Think I'll start with Rise and Fall of ZS and TSFM on vinyl.  I've always respected his work.  I had a student back in NH who loved Bowie, saw him 3 times (and she was 14!).  That brought me back to his work, too.  Never had the chance to see him live myself, not sure if that opportunity will present itself.  Anyway, check out the video below and go listen to some more Bowie.  (and you gotta love the eyes...)

The album came out in February, Johnny.  It is a very good one, though.  I agree with your song selections.

Oh, I'm aware its been out for a while.  I just stumbled into it today and figured I'd throw it out there, as no one had mentioned it and the Bowie thread was last active in 2009...
