QuoteLeonard Cohen is world famous and I don't think anything he does is overlooked.
Of course Leonard Cohen is world famous but 'I'm Your Man' doesn't get mentioned nearly as much as his first three albums, and it's as good as/better than two of them.  'New Skin For The Old Ceremony' should be getting more accolades too.

D.O.A. are criminally underrated.  As are Nomeansno (and The Hanson Brothers).

This EP should be praised by more than just a good portion of MMJ forum members:

Just like MJ listed Magical Mystery Tour, I think its perfectly valid for famous/popular artists to have underappreciated albums.

I dont own Im Your Man, but New Skin for the Old Ceremony is most likely my favorite Cohen album. I definitely agree with that one being underrated

Yeah I love this album too. Mmm Bop still kills!!!  ;)

God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

QuoteBenefit by Jethro Tull is a huge one. Fantastic, uncharactistic album. Desire and Oh Mercy by Bob Dylan; no hits on either but really excellent albums overall.

Im going to throw the red flag on Desire fitting this category. Maybe you could say it doesnt have a hit, but Id say Hurricane, Isis, and One More Cup of Coffee are all pretty famous Dylan songs.

Its 1 of my 3 favorite albums from Dylan, and Ive heard numerous other people rank it similarly. Once you get past Blonde on Blonde, Dylan's best is mostly preference. I cant think of any of his first 10 albums Id call underrated....

...except maybe his debut since it went undrafted in the Debut Album Draft  :o

When he posted that, all I could think of was the MMM Boppers my sister still swears by as good.

What other Hanson bros are there besides the guys in Slap Shot?!

The garage punk Hanson Brothers have nothing on the "real" ones.

There's a punk band named after the Hanson's? How have I missed this? I should start a punk band, the Hanrahan and the Hocky Wife Dykes or Ogilthorpe and the Goons  :P

That album is excellent. Everybody should own it. If you don't love it the first or even the fifth time you hear it, most of you will eventually. WHERE'S THE NEW MATERIAL? What's Jeff Mangum doing with his life?

Great album, but I wouldn't consider it overlooked. It's like the indie rock bible for a lot of people.

Agreed

Im pretty sure that album has been jizzed on more than Tara Reid, and Im not even an indie guy and know of this fact.

This one will only make sense to a few here (DB, Mark, pennylane). I'm almost leaning towards this is a better album then their debut. At least musically..

I get your point, it's huge in the indie scene, but I still think it's underappreciated in a larger sense. The album sounds more like folk than indie rock to me so I think a lot more people should hear this album, not just the indie kids.
