QuoteJeff Beck is probably in there? Jimmy Page as well?
Do you want to let me know if you're right or wrong or should I let you mull it over a little longer?  ;)

Haha, do let me know. I know these two were in the Yardbirds.

So the definitive answer is  1) Jeff Beck    2) Jimmy Page

AM I WRONG?

dragonboy

QuoteMike Nesmith was & still is my fav (those sideburns!!!)
Give me a few minutes to upload a song & I'll show you why...

Give this lovely little piece of county/rock pop a listen & thank me later  :)

God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Well played Sir...100% right!
Jimmy didn't want the gig & recomended Jeff but took it when Jeff left 18months later after all.

Ace!

I'm gonna get one more question up before logging out. In the meanwhile I'm listening to "If I Ever Get To Saginaw Again" and having a big cup of coffee. Mmmmm.

Actually it would appear that Jeff & Jimmy played together for a short period of time before Jeff left  :-[

Ok Mr. Chen, you are forgiven IF you get this question right.

Which song is (according to various sources) the most sampled of all time?

dragonboy

James Brown's Funky Drummer from In The Jungle Groove? 99% sure that's right  :)... :-/

Although I just looked it up, and there seems to be some controversy about this, Funky Drummer is the one I meant so it is correct.

and I knew you'd get it!

dragonboy

Which other track/tracks are in the running?

Man, that's a heck of a list for Funky Drummer!

Amen by The Winstons is up there.

Still, I don't think anyone could top that Funky Drummer list.
I mean, half of Public Enemy's songs are listed there!

QuoteQuestion No.667

Replacement guitarists Prt2!

Who replaced Hillel Slovak in the RCHP when he passed away & who replaced his replacement when he went crazy?

(obviously in both cases we're not talking about 'that guy that joined for a couple of weeks/gigs but didn't work out!)

+ not to leave out bass players (we fucking love you Tommy!!!)

Question No.668

Who replaced Cliff Burton in Metallica when he passed away?
these 2 are still open...

Oh, me neither, it's just something that turned up during a quick internet search for most sampled tracks.

dragonboy

So did you like Mike Nesmith?

I didn't like Mike Nesmith.

I freakin' loved it!!!

Actually it's playing again now. Just for confirmation, is this actually a solo track?

dragonboy

 ;D

I have it on The Monkees Music Box boxset but it was Mike with a bunch of Nashville musicians (no other Monkees).
It first got released on the posthumous Missing Links Vol2.

Anyway, the song is a heavenly slice of pop music :D

Thanks Mike, and thanks DB!

I'm off now, but as always, will return to quiz later on.
