Correct and correct.  The melodies and chord structures are also very similiar.  According to wikipedia, the lips are paying cat stevens (yusef islam) royalities for the song though they didn't realize the similiarities between the songs until their producer pointed it out.  They're both good songs in my book. You're kicking ass chills!
