#429 what former band member was Jim's cousin?  bonus point: what's his real name?
#430 whats tommy's real name?

Politics. It's a drag. They put one foot in the grave, and the other on The Flag.

good job sleasy.  those are all correct.

sorry to be knit-picky about mont de sundua, but that was the name the band took after aaron left the band and since that was my question I could only accept month of sundays.  the johnny quaid bonus question is also still alive, that's a tough one, you may not be able to find that one on the internet if you tried.

QuoteHeadliners is the correct answer.

and YES Jim played bass on TTF, as well as every other instrument and sound you hear on the album!

Then why are the other band members listed and their photo on the back of the cd. I have a hard time believing that the rest of the band didn't play on the album
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

my guess would be because jim didn't want to put myself out front, same reason they're not Jim James and the _____.  Is it really that hard to believe?  Jim did Chocolate and Ice by himself but the artist name on the album is "my morning jacket".  Jim has said in interviews that in the beginning "my morning jacket" was just "me"(Jim). And if you don't trust me, maybe you'll trust Ger, check out what his site has to say about TF:

Some geniuses  do everything under the name of the band, John Fogerty at times wrote, recorded, played, and produced 100% of a CCR song. I personally believe AMD because as a musician, one with such a vision, you wouldn't sit around and wait for people to show up to play their part. You would do everything as it hit you. Also since MMJ was an outlet for songs his band couldn't use, alot of that stuff could have been recorded before he even thought about bringing anybody else into a band. If you are a musician yourself you know how it is to have every sound of a song in your head. Why try to communicate that sound in your head to someone else, who better to capture your imagination on tape than you?

::)

whatever.  you remind of this guy who told me i was full of shit when i said mmj was opening for wilco at the palace unannounced and when i told everyone that there is a jim does george harrison album.  I didn't have "proof" of those things either but they have both now been confirmed. maybe when i do have proof you'll disappear just like he did.

btw, I think what LizKing was saying is he liked JJ Gray and Mofro better when they were called Mofro, thus reiterating my point about why Jim recorded TF as "My Morning Jacket" instead Jim James and My Morning Jacket.

Exactly.  Billy Corgan played almost everything on Melancholy the Infinite Sadness but he was a big enough ego-maniac to tell everybody that.  Jim isn't like that.  Choices he's made throughout the band's career shows he's not interested in being front and center and taking all the credit he deserves.

megisnotreal

i know i didn't get a question right, but i just found this out, and had to share with someone.  ;D

anyway... can you name the band about which the following passage is written?

They were there for a band competition when gunfire rang out between two rival gangs, and in trying to escape, they ran to the same service elevator. Because of their similar musical tastes, they quickly became acquainted. It would take them another two years to form a musical duo, and three years after that they had signed to Atlantic Records and released their debut.

Sounds like the crowd Simon and Garfunkel ran with.
