Quite right Sir!

OK, so we need a question from you & a question from our resident music pub-quiz master Greggy (Wordawg) to get this show back on the road  :)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Chills

Ok, I've got one on soundtracks.

Name the composers for...

The Untouchables
La Dolce Vita
Raiders Of The Lost Ark
Taxi Driver
The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy
From Russia With Love
Batman
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Scarface
Superfly

Congrats if you get 10 out of 10  :)

dragonboy

The Untouchables
La Dolce Vita
Raiders Of The Lost Ark - John Williams
Taxi Driver
The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy - Howard Shore
From Russia With Love - John Barry
Batman - Danny Elfman
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Scarface
Superfly - Curtis Mayfield

Knowing what a big fan you are I'm pretty sure one of those will be by Ennio Morricone...I'm guessing Untouchables, Taxi Driver or Scarface?

Thinking about it more carefully I'm pretty sure it's not Taxi Driver...

It's not Taxi Driver.
It's definitely not Scarface (the classic of dated eighties synths!)

So...

Second hint: I didn't mention the Godfather, but that other great Italian guy could still be included.

dragonboy

The Untouchables - Ennio Morricone  ;)
La Dolce Vita
Raiders Of The Lost Ark - John Williams
Taxi Driver
The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy - Howard Shore
From Russia With Love - John Barry
Batman - Danny Elfman
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Scarface
Superfly - Curtis Mayfield

I haven't seen The Untouchables in years, I shall have to add it our rental list...

6 out of 10!

I gotta go know, but I'll leave you with some random hints to fill out the rest...

Donna Summer - I Feel Love
Pink Panther
Alfred Hitchcock
The Godfather Trilogy

God speed  8-)

danny elfman wrote the theme for Batman but the rest of the music is written by Prince.  Maybe I don't understand the question.

My bad. I knew the theme was by Danny Elfman and just assumed he scored the whole soundtrack. That was a little confusing.

To settle this without a big, ugly fight, I'll give you a point for Prince  ;)

dragonboy

If I remember correctly there were actually 2 soundtracks released for the original Batman. Prince did indeed write original songs for the movie, Danny Eflman wrote the score.

Breakfast At Tiffany's - Henry Mancini

Correct!

I'm gonna give the remaining three away...

La Dolce Vita is Nino Rota (The Godfather etc.)
Taxi Driver is Bernard Hermann (who also did Psycho, Vertigo etc.)
Scarface is Giorgio Moroder (who produced Donna Summer)

... and make room for a new question.

Bring it on.

dragonboy

I seem to be all out of questions  :-/

Let me think...
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

My dad's favorite 8-track when I was 11?

dragonboy

How old are you Tracy? 40 something?
So we're talking 30 odd years ago? Something from the mid/early 70s? Am I in the right ball park?

Neil Young - Decade or Willie Nelson - Red Headed Stranger
I'm not saying it's easy...walking into sweet oblivion.

think lighter. you're in the right ballpark, definently an individual artist and not a band. think lighter, snappier, more tear jerkin' pensive
