These guys have really built up quite a body of work. Each album is filled with so many gems I'd kill to see live, but it seems like they never play. Think I've found my new "follow 'em around everywhere" band.
Love your enthusiasm!  Man, if you really are that into their studio output, look forward to hearing your review of your first show.  Is the Toronto date going to be before or after Forecastle?  I hope your first show isn't a festival set.

I couldn't get a date (or even date range) out of their manager, unfortunately. I'm praaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaying the Toronto date is before the Forecastle set, because I too would hate for my Dog cherry to be popped in a festival atmosphere. They are playing Vermont in June, so maybe they'll build a Toronto-Montreal-Ottawa set of shows somewhere in there? It makes geographical sense, so that's what I'm hoping for.

O, maybe it was just bad luck the time I went, but I did not have a good time seeing them at the electric factory. They cranked it up to 11 at that show... couldn't distinguish the instruments from each other... too many people there... couldn't walk around with a beer in my hand... just didn't have a good time there.

This is my fear.  I'm planning on seeing them this Wednesday in Mobile at a pretty small place.  I know it's going to be super crowded (which I hate) plus I won't be home until probably 1:30 am on weeknight.  I rarely stay up past 10 on weeknights so I'm trying to convince myself to just suck it up and deal.
I wish I could fly down there and punch you in the ball sac

Just got my ticket.  That'll save you a trip down here to punch me in the area that my ball sac used to be..   ;D
Lifeson understands

Very much excited for tonight's show.  It'll be the first time seeing them since the first round of the Shame, Shame tour when Deer Tick opened for them.  That's quite a drought.  The key for any Saturday Paddy's day show is to puke green beer on someone before someone does on you.  It's just sooo tough to turn my Lagunitas Cappucino Stout green.

Ha!  I was just trolling when I saw Dewie's handle pop up.  I retract all prior statements concerning Toby.  Dewie and jrud have convinced me something I should have accepted long ago.  Toby is bad ass on the fat four string.

First Dr. Dog show tonight, very pumped. There's an opener right? What time will the Dog go on?

e_wind

Oistheone was taken so you went with oistheones... Creative.

There was an opener when I saw em earlier in the tour. I can't remember who. They probably came on at 10 or so. I can't really remember. Plenty of time to drink before and still get a solid spot, though

Actually I didn't try oistheone, but yes I assumed it was taken. My username is a play on the Orioles, aka the O's.

Successfully a dick and helpful in one post. Bravo.

This is what I pulled from setlist.  It looks right as a whole.  Great show!  I was leery of this show in that it was at the Ram's Head Live in the Power Plant Live, the single worst entertainment area conceivable.  It's where all the non locals and asshats hang out filled with chain clubs and restaurants.  When you add to that St. Paddy's Day, it was a recipe for disaster.  Instead, we avoided drama completely other than YGTF knocking a whole double scotch and ginger out of my hand. ;D ;D  He replaced it immediately   Thankful that it wasn't sold out and the sound was as good as I've ever heard at Ram's Head.

Great time with jrud, his wife and YGTF and others.  The new songs all sounded great and My Friend was the highlight that I remember AND the only video I've found so far with our dancing heads as a bonus.

Dr. Dog - My Friend (Performing at Rams Head Live)

That Old Black Hole
Stranger
The Breeze
The Ark
Do The Trick

Sorry about that scotch & ginger  ;D

Great show otherwise!

So I take it no one else on the forum is going to the Boston show this Thurs?

Had fun at the Dr Dog show last night. Setlist was pretty standard except for the 1st song of the encore. Scott told a story of how the girl from the opening band (Birdie Bush) was from the same street as him or something. Then he said they were gonna try an old one, so naturally I got all excited because I thought maybe something off of Easy Beat.. but no, it was something else. I couldn't figure out what the hell song it was. I'll have to look at some more lyrics to figure it out. It was a Scott song... somewhere in the middle I think he said 'i do' a couple of times. Something else about meeting a girl at a bus stop maybe... memory is fuzzy.

Didn't get From or The Way The Lazy Do... but that's ok.

Also, I thought the shitty Clifton Park crowd (I can call them shitty cuz I'm from there) was pretty decent. Good energy, decent size, all good things... until some asswagons actually started a fucking fight right in the middle of the pit... at a dr dog show. C'mon man. Some girl got her glasses really smashed up and numerous flipflop wearers got their toes smushed. I can't remember what song they were playing when the fight broke out, but the band definitely noticed it, it split the crowd like moses did the sea. The next two songs after the fight were Shame, Shame and Jackie Wants a Black Eye ;D

Fully

I just noticed that Dr. Dog is playing the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis. I'm jacked that I'm going to get to see them again!

I am indeed going.   Don't want Ruckus anywhere near my nether regions.    It'll be my first time seeing them.   Really interested to check them out.
I won a free pair of tix on the radio yesterday lol- I wonder if it hasn't sold well... so talked my friend Zach into going.  He's a loyal wingman!
