i might have to back out of this  :-\.  my friend decided she wants to do a bachelorette weekend, in 'nawlins ( :D), and it's looking like it'll be right around that time.  even if it's not the same weekend, financially, i won't be able to swing both mtn jam & debauchery galore in the big easy.

at the very most i will prob just do sunday (mmj day) but i'm not even 100% on that.  so, so far i have zero mmj shows lined up.  that just ain't right!

that's no excuse. i'm missing a bridal shower for Hangout Fest,...and i'm IN the wedding (the bride is ready to throw me out at this point)..people just need to understand that festival season is REALLY REALLY important..

For folks like Brooke and Trish & Bob, who fear they cannot make the Sunday night MMJ set at Mountain Jam, the word through postings on their message board is that the last set on Sunday night ends around 10 PM, based on previous years.  Alman Bros. ended early one year (9:30 PM) due to dropping temps and Levon Helm's set last year went to 11 PM.  THAT should make decisions a lot easier (unless MMJ makes history with an epic 4 hour set to midnight). 

So, we'll see you there, Brooke and Trish & Bob!  ;)

Thanks JY, this is nice of you to do all of this research! I am definitely out for this.  I have to be in top form and ready to lecture from 8am-4:30pm, (and people are paying good $$ to hear my boring self drone on)!!  I just can't take a chance of being that far from home the night before....Bob has been very creative in coming up with solutions, but unless by some miracle they get switched to Saturday, I'm out.   :(

I might be down for that. The people I got my house on the Mountain are doing there own thing so I don't think I am going to get the place anymore unless people want to join up with me from here. It is $700 a night. Have to rent for Fri, Sat and Sun. It would be cheap enough if we filled it up (10 plus people). But I don't want to stuck paying extra. Plus I have a bagpipe competition that Saturday in NJ. So I am prob just gonna go up for the day on Sunday now. It is not that far of a ride back so I may just drive after MMJ finish. But would be willing to crash if we found a spot. But it is hard to get lodging up there for just that one night. We could always camp!

yes ma'am .. i'd do saturday & sunday  any scenario that doesn't require taking off work or spending an assload of money because this is what early june might look like:

may 27th - 29th / phish @ bethal woods
may 31 & june 1st / phish @ PNC
june 4th & 5th / mtn. jam
june 10th / phish @ camden
june 11 & 12th / phish @ MPP

i may drive up saturday am, stay in the house we rented sat night and drive back sunday after the mmj set.  i should have room in my car if a few of the nyc/nj contingent need a ride up and back.  just let me know.  (penny we can split the radio time btwn mmj and dbt   -- sorry brooke, no phish   :'()

Val, you're reservation at the Bluesky Hotel in lovely Dix Hills is confirmed.  Beth even offers complimentary breakfast and chocolates on your pillow at night.  Additionally, I spoke with the limo driver and I definitely have room  (I mean the limo driver has room) in the car for you for the ride back.

i love this plan!  hopefully i'll be able to go into work late that monday - pull a 1/2 or something...  it would so totally be worth it!   :)

EDIT: or if something works out where we could do sat AND sun, on the cheap, then i'm game too.

Cool. I am probably just going to go up for the day on Sunday now. I will prob just drive back after the MMJ show. They do have camp grounds and I think u can pay for just one night of camping and leave Monday morning. But since MMJ will prob be done around 10 or 11pm I should be able to make it back to the Bronx by 1am the latest. If you are going on Sunday it is worth it to get up there around 12pm. That is when the music starts.

Jeff, you're out in LI right?  If this is a bit out of your way I am only 10 min from the city and can easily scoop up the ladies if it is an inconvenience for you.  Keeping my fingers crossed we can make this!

Hope you guys can make it.  As long as everyone who wants to go can get a ride to go, it all works for me.  I don't mind making a pit stop for some good passenger company in nyc but am happy to share with others to.   Still waiting on new MMJ dates but as of now, this is my first MMJ 2011 show and I am already crazy excited for it.
