Brian Jonestown Massacre - Anemone
BJM is excellent. If you ever get a chance to see them live do so. You never know what version of Antoine you'll get: On top of his game musically Antoine or he's a total fucking dandruff flake and starts fight with the club owner and fans Antoine. See the movie Dig!! It's a great look at BJM and the Dandy Warhols.

I'm an idiot for not getting into these guys in the '90s (and following decade). But thanks to Boardwalk Empire, I've become a fast-fan. This Christmas, Santa brought me their first two breakthough albums, Take it From the Man and Their Majestys' Second Request. Awesome Kinks/Stonesy-inspired genius.

Here's the song that hooked me - and many others late to the party (the long version is even better):

The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Straight Up and Down

Thank God For Mental Illness, Give It Back, and Strung Out In Heaven are excellent albums also.

that movie turned me off on this band, no desires to get into them after seeing how big of an asshole the singer was.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

There is no question that Antone is a giant raging douchbag. However, I've seen him perform flawlessly and sound incredible and I've seen him be that Antone on stage and start a fight with the club owner. It's a not miss experience.

Once you start delving into the personalities and biographies of most of the lead singers in music, I'll wager a healthy number are major assholes. Let the music do the talking. By comparison, how many actors do we admire off-screen? For me, not many and I don't care for the most part.

Exactly. How else would you explain why I love the Gallagher brothers so much.

Talk Talk - INHERITANCE - 1988

I can leave this song alone for months & everytime I come back to it completely floors me. Listening to this now I know full well that if I play it tomorrow it will still floor me. I can listen to it 10 or more times in a row & still find something new to amaze me everytime.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

I can't help it. This band is my guilty pleasure. Also it's such a stupid song and I just really can't quit listening to it. Thankfully, spotify has private sessions so that the entire world can't see what I'm listening to.

No guilt at all in loving this extended album version:

Boney M - Rasputin (Extended Version)

I'm really digging the outfits that band is wearing. Also, nice song.
