I'm not saying it's easy...walking into sweet oblivion.

Yet another from Dulli's top ten of last year.  This shit just stuns me.

You could come here on 2/21. Tickets still available. It's a small club and you get right up on the stage.

Penny Lane, you are a woman after my own heart...The Banishment Song has been on repeat for weeks. Getting into their older stuff too. I saw them in September in Chicago, and they closed the show with "Don't Let Me Down"...I went a little nuts. Okay, a lot nuts. The band that opened Breathe Owl Breathe were these amazing kids from UP Michigan..download "Swimming" ;)

My favorite is The Ruminant Band...but this new album is incredible. Hoping I can see them this spring/summer because I missed their NYC show. Sounds awesome! "You're too weird" is a great one off the new album, too.

A great live gem of theirs is Union Blanket followed by a cover of Harry Nilsson's Jump into the Fire. I picked this up from The Steam Engine.

This version of Union Blanket has excellent energy compared to the studio version.
We understand it's the '90s.

God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

For fans of Pink Floyd & Porcupine Tree...

Crippled Black Phoenix - The Heart Of Every Country (album version)
:o :o
That's what I thought, the guitar solo is gilmour-sublime! I, Vigilante was very good but the new album sounds like it's one another level.

Gotye - Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra) - official video

Today the radio station said they were gonna play that and then accidentally played this instead, I didn't stay tuned to see if they caught it.

Gilmour was exactly what I thought. Gave the full album a spin last night on Spotify. Excellent stuff, good call again

This just fucking rules, reverb, bad ass lead, bass, drums,

It's like The Cure meets MMJ!!!

I'm hooked, the songs called "a dog's dick" but who really cares  :)

Lower Dens - A Dog's Dick

I didn't ever want the guitars to stop screaming over that!!!

I mean, who produced this shit?  The sound is out of this ass galaxy.

What I'm trying to say here...

if your brain was connected to this music, and then your brain was also connected to your ass.  Then this music would shoot straight through your brain, come out of your ass, and explode into a giant black ass hole. Fact!
There's Still Time.........

bluesky

Been meaning to check out Lower Dens, thanks for the reminder...

Devil Ledbetter

Today while I was writing, Menomena's Ghostship came up on the big playlist I've dedicated to the novel I'm working on. I've known this song for a long while but listening to it with headphones blew me away all over again.

I absolutely love the way they build their songs on loops, and I love this song's bass, whispery vocal harmonies and eerie piano subtlety. The whistling teakettle puts it over the top. I'm still bummed that they split up.

This band needs to get back together ASAP.

In my Blood.  Black Stone Cherry.      I like the Kentucky kids voice.  Wouldn't mind seeing these guys at forecastle
