Exclusive Details On Pearl Jam's 20th Anniversary Blowout

Around the time that Crowe's movie opens in late summer, Pearl Jam are planning a massive "weekend bash," as Curtis calls it, somewhere in the middle of the country. Details are still being worked out, but it will probably be a two-day event involving multiple bands and Pearl Jam headlining both nights. "We've played enough festivals that we know what makes them exciting," says Ament. "We want to give people places to go that aren't necessarily musical – second stages and all that kind of stuff. We're asking our friends if they want to play a couple of shows with us."

I think MMJ are friends. This fest will sell out to Ten Club members alone

I definitely have a feeling MMJ is gonna be involved with this "bash". When I first saw this article, I instantly thought of them. Probably going to be a ton of great acts at this thing, wherever it is.

Me too, Im  thinking.... Neil Young cameo?  Ben Harper, Jack Johnson?   Lots of possibilities.....Townshend, Sonic Youth, AIC?

We've got a whole thread going on about it over here, Seeker:

And CT, I can't imagine Ben Harper won't be there.  Good call!

Looks like 10c will announce Monday that the PJ20 shows are at Alpine Valley on Labor Day weekend or the weekend before, then a tour in Canada. I'll be attending at least 4 shows  with or without MMJ
My Perfect Day = Snowboarding on a powder day in the trees & listening to my favorite music.

If PJ20 is the weekend before labor day I'll kill myself. That's my sisters wedding weekend.

Ben Harper will be in Vegas on Saturday night (9/3), and California on Sunday.  Not sure if PJ20 will be 2 or 3 days, but there's a good chance Ben doesn't make it.

Rumors had Neil Young, Soundgarden, Liam Finn, and the Strokes.  I'm sure there will be more.

The time is upon us. I've been reading the thread on the PJ forum, and apline valley doesn't sound like a good place for it at all. I'm hoping for somewhere bigger and with more camping. plus someone said that they can't play loudly past 11pm at Alpine? I don't know. I really hope its Labor Day weekend. tomorrow could make or break my mood for a while. Missing t5 due to obligations was hard enough, I don't want to relive that.

I have been wondering about the prospect of MMJ being at the PJ20 festival as well and was going to pose that question but you beat me to it.  As a huge PJ and MMJ fan, I would lose my mind if MMJ was going to be there.  MMJ doesnt have their tour information go beyond labor day weekend so who knows.  They have played on stage together before (and it's featured on "Imagine in Cornice" dvd).  I think it is certainly feasible to say that MMJ could be there.

I plan to be going regardless of whether MMJ is going to be there or not but this reminds me I better sign back up for ten club. I am hoping for some good news this week from the Pearl Jam camp.  We will see!
And all that ever mattered will some day turn back to batter, like a joke.

Im there with you on the missing of T5.  I am praying for tickets for the PJ20 and hope they have an awesome lineup for the fest (especially if they can have MMj in that lineup).

Question for Ten Club members here -- if I signed up a few years ago, let my membership expire, and now signed up again, would I be back at the very bottom of seniority?

Sadly yes.  Or atleast that is my understanding of it.  And if you haven't signed up by 12 AM PST yesterday then you won't get to take advantage of presales with the upcoming tour/festival when tickets do get released.

Damn, that blows! Oh well, they gotta make sommmmmmmmmmme tickets available to the general public, right? Or at least the general public who signed up past the deadline?

I don't really care for any of the other bands, which makes this rough.

I am with you on that.  I am a huge PJ fan but wish they had a slightly better supporting bands surrounding the festival.  Oh well, I'll be there.  Were you able to get the www.pj20.com link to come up?  It asked me for a user name and password and when I used my ten club membership information, it didn't accept it.  Did you have luck?

It asked for that wordpress username for me for awhile too, but I finally got it. Sometimes it'll load, others it won't. I plan on being there too, but I thought we would definitely get Soundgarden and some PJ side projects. I could probably watch the Strokes and enjoy their show, and maybe even the queens, but I'll be going exclusively for Pearl Jam

Yeah, Soundgarden I thought was for sure going to evidently not.  I'll definitely check out The Strokes and Queens of the Stone Age but my main interest is PJ.  MMJ or Band of Horses would have made it 10 times better.  Do you know the prices of the tickets for the weekend through the Ten Club?  I can't seem to find that information.

I can't find that either, but it will make or break my trip
