Took me 5 hours yesterday, but I got my tickets. What an ordeal! Now we know why Ticketmaster has "convenience charges". So much irony.

I'm sort of hoping for the lawn the first day, so we can take it all in, then the next day we can hang in the parking lot and go in for PJ and QOFTSA if we liked them the night before. Either way will be cool. I'm also thinking of trying to get seats for the day I have lawn at the TM sale.

I don't know if MMJ will be a surprise guest, but maybe Jim?

God I hope so.  That would be unreal if they could make an appearance.  I'd be flippin out.  It's still a long ways away and MMJ hasnt made any plans for that weekend so it's still up in the air.
And all that ever mattered will some day turn back to batter, like a joke.

Me & my 2 travel buddies tried & 2 of us scored a pair of reserved seats . The line-up is set without MMJ :'( . O well. It's not like I'll be disappointed, my friend sits within the first 7 rows & Im sitting with him :D.

How does he know where he will be sitting?  It's based off seniority of having a ten club membership.  How long has he been in the ten club?

93 or 94, I think he lost his original # once but in 96 they allowed him to get his old # back, lucky bastard. # 70xxx , He has only sat in 8th row once, all others  shows closer. They only recently started the lottery, which moved him back 2 rows now.

I think that's a good estimate. I'm 159xxx (since '95)and figure I'll be 10-15th row, but hard to say.

As to the line-up being set, I agree that minimizes the chance of a full MMJ appearance, but I'm hoping for high profile friends to appear with PJ on stage for a song or two each, similar to the Last Waltz, which Eddie has referenced.  The remoteness of Alpine Valley (compared to SF for Last Waltz) mitigates against this though.

I am posting this on two threads- who is going to be like me and go to BOTH PJ20 and the MMJ Red Rocks show?

I'm trying to plan this shit out. seems like its going to entail a lot. there really isn't any close hotels are there? I'm going to have to get a bus pass or drive in every day. what's everyone else doing? I'm confused.

I bought the shuttle pass both days from the Milwaukie location.  I figured there'd be better hotel selection in the city and I plan on enjoying many adult beverages at the show (it's going to be hot and humid!) and I don't want to drive.  I've done concert shuttles before (Rush!) and they are funfunfun!

As posted before, me and a large group of PJ fanatics are staying in a campground 15 minutes from the venue.  Cost of the campground per day is like $25.  Cost of the shuttle per person is $10.  Brings a Roo-esc approach to the festival into the experience.

I am still hoping like hell that MMJ decides to go to the PJ20 festival.  They don't have to play both nights like all the other bands are doing but one night would be freaking stellar.  Looking through the "how you got hooked to MMJ?" forum, seems like an awfully lot of fans originating by watching MMJ open for PJ back in 2006.  Just makes sense that they would play at this festival where the fans for PJ have already found acceptance for the MMJ sound.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE play at this festival MMJ!!  They dont have anything scheduled for that weekend just yet so I am holding out for hope on this one.
