mmmmmmmmm

.....sorry it's on my mind, it's not good for me or you....but I dare one to deny it's delicious cheesy flavor....it does not belong in foodies unite!

Oh hell yeah -- but make mine a Beef Baja Chalupa:

Surely my guiltiest pleasure, and certainly not fit for foodies. (Would Ruckus indulge?) I was actually happy to learn that the "beef" has a significant quantity of oat filler -- there's fiber in that there taco!

thank god there's another one, I was afraid this thread would be left hangin leaving me to linger in gluttonous(sp?) shame.

In all honesty taco bell is a very rare guilty pleasure these days rather than a viable option for daily sustenence.

And although I consider myself a discerning food nerd, I will never deny the cheesy delights of the local faux-Mexican Fast Food chain.

I'm proud to say I've never eaten at Taco Bell.  No offense.  Just hasn't happened.  I'm okay with it.  I prefer a full service authentic Mexican joint.  There was this fantastic place in Chapel Hill.  The oyster tacos were mucho deliciouso.  There was another great place down the street from where we lived at Clemson University.  The Carolinas offer up some solid Mexican fare.  I imagine Texas would have some amazing restaurants.

Oh by the way, sorry for the

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

One thing Taco Bell is not: it is not Mexican food. The I-35 corridor is rich with the good stuff, but I have my weakness, and try limit it to once a month.

I'm with Crispy- beef baja chalupa is greater than or equal to cheesy gordita.

Although, I must say that my taco bell experiences have been tainted ever since I asked for a beef burrito and the guy behind the counter word-for-word said:

"Sorry dude, we don't have burritos today. The meat hose is broken."  :o

Take it as you please, but this is 100% true. I still eat there despite the thought of burrito meat oozing from a hose  ???

It's not as good as bbill's carnitas tacos but here is my contribution.

Have you guys followed the Taco Bell "beef" lawsuit recently?  Good stuff!

I try to go for flavor, textural and temperature contrast so..Got some fresh shrimp from the market I shelled and seasoned with cayenne, salt and pepper and sauteed in garlic, ginger, dried and fresh chilis.  Sliced fuji apples and sliced fresh radishes chilled in lime juice along with fresh cilantro.  Kinda sweet, sour, salty, spicy, cold, warm, soft and crunchy thing, flavor overload.   Balanced out well by using flour tortillas instead of traditional corn.  I'll shut up.  This belongs in the foodie thread. ;)

I have enjoyed the chalupa in the past but I can't help but liken it to eating a taco out of a doughnut.

*Meat hose is the dirtiest two-word combination I've heard in quite some time.

Anyways anyone else like Chipolte? That shit is tasty, farm-raised and the size of a baby! The sour cream is magnifique  ;)

Damn you Ruckus for muddying this up with all your fancy talk about real food! This thread is about eating hose-issued "meat" out of a donut!  ;D

Get that fancy shit out of here Ruckus!  ;D (That looks and sounds delicious, btw)

Man, I need to branch out next time I go to Taco Bell. I usually go with the Grilled Stuffed Burrito (steak).

There's a place near where I live that combines the delicious, greasy, authentic food of a taqueria with the convenience of Taco Bell. Betos Tacos...

Open 24 hrs a day. It's pretty rad.

Also, are there good taco trucks where you guys live? Some of my favorite food came off a truck...  ;D  :-*

My bad.  I was really drunk.

I did have three of these last week and they were awesome!

I think I'm going to try a cheesy Gordita Crunch today.  I've always been a huge fan of the Double Decker taco and this one looks like a better, greasier version of it.

I love Chipotle.  I usually get the Burrito bowl (steak with black beans or carnitas with pinto peans) with everything on it with the tortilla on the side.  That way I can eat half of it with a fork before I roll the rest of it into a manageable sized burrito with a proper filling to tortilla ratio. ;D

Nice! It's the perfect combo of meat, baja sauce, cheese, lettuce, taco shell, cheese, taco shell.

Its kinda like this, check it (SFW):

1)  Never had Chipotle.  They had Panchero's back in IA...no Chipotle nearby.  Panchero's is damn good though.  I assume it's pretty similar to Chipotle...

2)  Whenever I want to "run for the toilet"...er, border...at T-Bell, I almost always get the #6 (2 beef supreme chalupas w/taco and drink).  Sometimes I'll add a 7-layer burrito (delicious).  If I'm really drunk or starving I might just get a Grande combo and eat the whole damn thing.

I have had the cheesy gordita crunch...not bad.  I guess I just don't need that much cheese.  I prefer to taste the delicious sour cream of the supreme chalupa, unadulterated.

3)  I'm going to pretend I never read that "meat tube" thing...
We could.
