Why is it that someone always has to talk down on a festival line up right off the bat.  Lil' Wayne? Eminem? Really?  YES REALLY!! These are two of the most prolific musicians around.  Get with it.

Yes, and if you are autotuned and quantized, you're not a musician even if you play music.

If you market your music to an audience of teenagers and those stuck emotionally as such, you're an entertainer at best, and not a very good one.

Save that shit for the ClearChannel hot 97.1 crunk-a-thons that go down every summer in NYC.
I'm surrounded by assholes

I picked up tickets on Saturday as soon as they went on sale. We got teir 3 (of 4) ticket pricing. This is our first Bonnaroo and I couldn't be more excited about the lineup, outside of eminem and lil wayne. They sold more tickets on Saturday than they ever have on opening day of sales. Also you will notice about 50-70 acts missing from the linup poster, that's a lot to still be announced and I think the general belief is that some of those yet to be announced acts are going to be rather big. I don't think tickets will be hard to get rid of this year if need be.

On a personal note...YEAH BONNAROO!!!! I can't f'n wait to be there!! Hope to run into some fellow Jackets forum folks from out East as this will be my forst Jacket show East of the Gorge. (All have been west coast shows)

Sorry I don't follow pop music trends, I would've thought people here would be smarter than that. Autotune makes me nauseous.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Yeah, I also got tickets on Saturday right at noon and got tier 3 tix.  My first 'Roo was in '08 and was mainly interested in seeing MMJ of course.  That '08 show was  absolutely mind-blowing.  I am really excited about this year and what kind of tricks they have up their sleeves, but the rain in '08 was truly magical and unlikely to repeat itself.  I will be traveling from central Kentucky.  Anyone else coming down from KY?

kymomandstuff

I'll be driving down from South Central Ky and meeting a friend from Durham. While MMJ is my primary reason for going/living,there are some fantastic, albeit lesser known, acts in the lineup worth mentioning.Jessica Lea Mayfield is friggin' fantastic and is doing a $12 show at Louisville's Headliners April 9th for anyone interested in a cheap preview.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers, and me.

ALady

Good call on JLM, kymom - I'd say the whole bottom quarter of that lineup is pretty choice.

If I do end up going it will be VIP - we'll have to meet up, oistheone!
if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

jlaw

how quickly have the tickets been selling out? There's only level 4 tickets left which are $250, how long do you think before these ones sell out?

oistheone

I'm betting the remaining tickets won't sell out for a few months, but you just never know. The first lineup addition could create another surge for tickets that would deplete what is left, so I'd pick 'em up ASAP!

And ALady, ya gotta go VIP! Is there a better way to spend a grand than to hang out at the biggest MMJ Fan Convention since October in New York? I think not!

e_wind

I would hope it doesn't sell out.  I'm still indecisive as he'll abOut Roo. Electri forest, waka, or Roo. All have their ups and downs
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

DirtyJerzee

From a source that leaked the headliners a couple weeks before lineup was announced, She said MMJ will be playing on the main stage before AF, so I am guessing there will not be a late show. I would also guess they will get at least 2 hours if not 2 1/2. Someone on Inforoo also mentioned before the lineup was announced that Grace Potter & the Nocturnals would be playing on the main stage as well, so I can see GPN>MMJ>AF

Pkyankfan

^^^  I hope that is not true... Bonnaroo really F'd up if they have MMJ in a pre-HL spot rather then LN after AF..

Big time fuck up by Roo if this is the case

If you're referring to "insider" on inforoo, she never said MMJ would be playing before Arcade Fire. She said that Arcade Fire and MMJ are both playing Friday, but "could not recall which act is first".

I've got a strong hunch that Arcade Fire plays 8:30-11:00ish, making way for an MMJ late night set on the main stage. It just doesn't make sense to me to give a band that almost always plays no more than their usual 90-minute set (Arcade Fire) an unlimited late night window.

Pkyankfan

^^ That is just what I assumed would happen

Could Bonnaroo be that dumb to have MMJ play a daytime set? with a limited amount of time.

Since Insider said MMJ and AF on fri I pretty much assumed AF int he reg headlining spot followed by an epic late night set from MMJ

I would be super bummed if it was MMJ ---> AF

I stand corrected. Some much gibberish talk happening on my message board that I thought that is what she said. In that case it could go either way, but I would not be disappointed if they weren't late night just because I know they will have a long set. I would take a stab and say Preservation Jazz Band might back them up on horns

Pkyankfan

^^^ I have not kept up with Inforoo for awhile now so I don't know if Insider has given any more info on the Friday schedule... So I really have no idea as to what the order will be on Friday other then just assuming AF ---> MMJ for obvious reasons (length of set)

You scared the crap outa me Jerzy, when I read your post it sounded definitive that it was MMJ ---> AF... IMHO that would be a HUGE mistake by Roo... I know I would be super PO.

cheesemuffins

Purchased tickets on Saturday but can't go any more. Anybody need tickets?!

Erik26

The general consensus on Inforoo (take from it what you will) is that Buffalo Springfield-->Arcade Fire-->MMJ. I can see this happening from everything I have read. BS from 6-8 AF from 9-11 and MMJ from 12-??? All on the What stage. Words can't describe what that experience would be like...
