I'm just listening/watching to Dondante on YouTube and it's driving me crazy... :D
All I want is a T5 box set CD or DVD or both. I might want this more than the new album. What do you think the chances are?

I hate to say this, but the more I think about it, the more I doubt it.  Is there precedent for a band at MMJ's level of fame and fortune doing such a package of live material from some sort of epic live run?

Now, as a GREAT gesture of appreciation to fans, they could release each show from those lovely soundboard recordings on the archive or their own website for free if they don't plan a commercial release.  Maybe toss some download codes into the new album to draw new fans to the greatness of their back catalog, and what better way to introduce people to TTF, AD, ISM, Z, and EU.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

I came here to troll and do my usual rumor mongering of it already existing because I have one and whatnot,

but I can't

However, I think it'll happen. Unfortunately, I think it'll be "mixed down" and not likely include the covers, or all the covers (licensing can be a bitch)

Anyway, Phish and PJ always release shows. Phish shows are released years after they happen sometimes.

The release today of Butch Cassidy from night 1 at T5 made my Magic 8 Ball say

They stole my idea!  Er, they took my advice!

(actually, please disregard certain sections)

My theory is they started to prep the shows for a release, but when the recording engineer dude got to the 18 minute mark of "Cobra" his head assploded all over the studio. Now they are having a hard time filling that vacancy.
Cow temperature.

If they release it, it will probably be one album at a time over a span of years, then a final collectors edition box set at the end of it all.

and of course, we'll all buy it twice just to get the unique guitar pick that comes with the box set.

Is licensing not a bitch for live Phish or Widespread Panic shows?  Both of those bands commercially release every show they play (in the modern era, at least), and virtually every show has at least one cover.  I seem to recall some issues with Neil Young covers in the past (which is a pretty significant problem in the case of Panic), but for the most part, I don't think this is usually an issue.

And, for me, if you strip the T5 run of the covers, what you have left isn't the T5 run.  Is it still cool; would I still want to listen to it?  Absolutely, but it's not what happened there.

Not sure if covers, especially Neil Young covers, would be the issue. Pearl Jam releases nearly every show (at least for digital download) and they play "Rockin in the Free World" and "Harvest Moon" plenty. Hasn't seemed to be an issue.

I just hope they get released one way or another. I would pay through the nose for these. I don't really even care if they include the covers, if that's what it comes down to. To have a live copy of each album would be absolutely fine with me.

at some point in our life we WILL get these released.  I promise.
God damn those shaky knees.
