So Through fustration of not having MMJ at Nateva this year...a representative from the festival responded to all the MMJ requests and got this answer.  So it looks like MMJ will be at Lolla instead.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. We tried very hard to get My Morning Jacket for this summer, but Lolapalooza is in Chicago the same weekend as Nateva and it made some bookings very challenging, like MMJ. As for why we are offering... fewer tickets this year...... we think it's important to be able to camp everybody who wants to be part of the Nateva Community in one spot, on one campus. The only way we can accomplish that is to increase camping capacity at the Fairgrounds and reduce the number of tickets sold, and do both simultaneously. We are a regional festival located in Northern New England that continues to focus on great bands in a limited capacity venue. We strive to be intimate, safe, family friendly and great fun for everybody. We hope to see you in Maine this summer

Great intel, bold99!  Bummer they won't make Nateva, in neighboring Maine.  Isn't that the Oxford Speedway site?  I saw back-to-back Grateful Dead shows there one 4th of July weekend.

Still waiting for confirmation of this Lollapalooza news and the Latitude Fest announcement in England.  Nothing posted on MMJ's homepage yet.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Yeah they actually have camping right at the Speedway.  I went last year, great festival...but the lineup this year is really weak.  Was hoping for MMJ.

I'm going to say MMJ at Lolla is pretty much a done deal but they won't announce it till the lineup comes out.

How confident do we feel about this after they booked a Chicago show in June?

I was thinking about that as well. Isn't there a 30 or 60 day window that bands can't play in Chicago before or after Lolla? Not that I wouldn't love to see them there...
It's all happening.

There is a radius clause, but C3 can waive it at their discretion (and I believe they will in this case).  I have a copy of the policy somewhere, I'll post the link tomorrow.

Here's the link:

http://leisureblogs.chicagotribune.com/turn_it_up/2010/06/lollapalooza-one-of-many-festivals-with-exclusivity-clauses.html

In pertinent part:

Lollapalooza:
Unless artist or agent thereof receives express written consent executed by a representative of C3, Artist will decline any performance engagement from 180 days before Lollapalooza to 90 days following Lollapalooza within a 300-mile radius of Lollapalooza. This radius clause also includes any performances (public or private) in
Chicago the weekend of Aug 6-8, 2010. Artist will not announce ANY Lollapalooza performance until Lollapalooza has publicized its schedule.

So, aside from bold's intel, the letter from Nateva, does anyone else have something of substance to suggest MMJ will be at Lollapalooza this year?  I can kill two birds with one stone, bringing the family to visit my wife's folks in Plainfield, IL, using Papa and Mimi to watch the girls so me and Mrs. Yac can head to Lolla for the day MMJ play.  I'm frustrated by how slow festivals and the Jacket themselves are at announcing dates, then ticket sales start within days of the announcement.  Makes it really hard to plan.

Tell me about it.   I would LOVE to go see MMJ at Red Rocks - but since the tix were will call, I had one day to figure out whether I could pull it off or not.
