has anyone been to a concert at pantages before?

Rocknamys

I saw Wicked at the Pantages - it is an absolutely gorgeous theater. Can't speak to it in terms of rock concert sound though....

can't wait for the Fox!

So I'm a big dork and in my ticket anticipation googled Pantages Theater and found this...

"The theatre has also occasionally hosted rock concerts, for such bands as Dream Theater and Foo Fighters. Talking Heads' 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense was shot there. "

Was Patrick telling us something in LA with his post yesterday... I think so :dankk2:

West Coast people got some tour dates! Woo hoo!

I immediately priced airline txts for Red Rocks and it's outrageous. That would be a phenomenal show. Plan to keep my eyes peeled and my spending at a minimum. It's going to be a great summer.

Hey now, there are enough of you east coast peeps to rent a 15-passenger van and road trip it out to Colorado, picking up stragglers along the way and rocking out at JacketFestWest! I expect to see all of you there.  :D

now THAT is something to consider ???

like many others - red rocks is on my bucket list.

road rules ;D totally forgot about that show!  i did a search on travelmath.com & it's approx 1620 miles from near me (east rutherford) to denver.  @ avg speed of 60 mph = about 27 hrs.  (and @ avg speed of 70 mph for lead-footers/crazy nj drivers like me = about 23.1 hrs.)

in other words TOTALLY DO-ABLE :D

Same here Penny.

I plan on getting out there Wednesday also. I want to make sure I get used to the altitude. Literally coming from sea level, so I don't want any surprises.

Good luck with the tix.

Well I convinced the wife yesterday that our week long summer vacation "up north" would need to change dates and locations and run through Toronto on July 12.
I snagged two tix to the Kool Haus right after they went on sale and saw that just a few minutes later the presale was sold out.
Anyone know anything about this venue (like the people who bought all those other tix)?
It looks to be relatively small.

Liz- I'm flying.

When my daughter drove out for Phish a couple of years ago, RR as the 1st stop on her West Coast trip, and she said the drive was a long one. I believe it was well over 30 hrs.

After driving to L'ville last year and making a quick turn around back to Jersey,I decided my next long trip will be by air if possible. I want to be well rested and raring to go. ;)

I'll fly Newark - Denver and rent a car.Probably Wed - Sat.

Once I get tix, I'll post in Crispy's thread, and we can come up with a plan from there.

We have lost our damn minds. 23 hours in a car?  Help me jesus.

I am up for airfare if you can do it!  I've never been to Colorado and would like to have time to do some sight seeing if possible.  :-\

I know I've been a bit hazy for the last um, year or so, but I just saw that Everest is opening for them in Portland.  And I'm STOOOKKKKKEDDD!

What's the word on openers at RR?

My jacket's gonna be cut slim and checked

I believe the Red Rocks opener is Amos Lee. Everest kicked a whole buncha ass at T5!
