I am a bit distressed to see that according to TM, Red Rocks will be reserved seating for the first 60 rows.

When I got an email from MMJ inviting me to register for the internet pre-sale tomorrow, it did not mention whether we will get the best seats in the house like Pearl Jam gives to Ten Club, or whether, like most bands, they will hold some of the best seats for radio pre-sales and the public onsale.

I am going to hate trying to decide whether to pull the trigger on a purchase if they might be holding better seats.

Distressed?

I feel the opposite.Glad RR has those reserved seats, and I'm totally psyched they're offering us a fan presale.

What's the worst that can happen? You get through for a pair of tix and if you don't like them, throw them back and try again at the general sale.

You'll have two chances to score some great seats, imo.

I think I know what's distressing him, it's that at Red Rocks the first 25 rows are usually GA, and reserved seating goes from row 25 up to 60-something. I noticed that and got worried too. I hope it's that way tomorrow, but if not, I'll just hope for the best, which ALWAYS sucks in these presales.

Gotcha Crispy.

My thinking is that rows 1-60 will be reserved and even if I end up anywhere in the 1st 20-30 rows through the presale, I'd be happy. It would save me the trouble of lining up real early with no guarantee of getting closer than that.

More time to hang and pre-party

If I get row 40-60,I think I'll just wait for the general sale.

I doubt we'll get shitty tix though. The way the presale announcement was worded, it seemed to me they want to take care of the fans, and making it a two ticket max should help too, imo.

Good luck tomorrow. How you get what you're looking for.

I'm distressed about this too, but for different reasons. It sucks that I don't know what future dates are going to be announced. For a college kid renting a hotel room in chicago and 60$ tickets are pretty steep, but I don't wanna sleep on it then be screwed out of chicago and not have a chance closer shows.

Does anyone know anything about hotels? Do they get cheaper as the date gets closer? I don't know what to do but I can't spend more than 200$ for one show.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

if there is nothing major going on in Chicago that weekend you can get a 250 dollar hotel for 100 bucks on priceline bidding a couple days before.....
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Try early, 4 star hotel with a starting bid at below $60 will take less than 2 weeks to secure a bid at about $70, just keep on trying everyday. Good luck ;).

I hear ya about reserved seats up front, Eric.  Us old farts don't mind a seat underneath for a few shows.  That said...

From the FAQ section of the Metropolis website

Can we see a seating plan?

No. Please note that Métropolis is a general admission venue and follows the policy "first come, first served".

johnnYYac will own the rail in Montreal, motherfuckers!  Whooo!

Place kinda reminds me of Terminal 5, though it seats about half of its 2300 capacity.

I may see you there, Yac
I NEEDED IT MOST WHENEVER tbh

Step 1: check credit card for available funds
Step 2: apply for new credit card
Step 3: buy other half a very expensive "pre-asking can I go to the US to see MMJ again" present to enhance my argument...

Surely this plan is fool proof!

Awesome news for you guys. Have loads of fun...
At my house, we call them uh-ohs.

bluebugsy

Anyone know if the Chicago venue will be GA or reserved?

Haldon

Well, I'm definitely glad to see some tour dates announced, and i'm happy/excited for all that will be seeing the guys debut these new songs live

sadly, there doesn't seem to be any love yet for those of us waaaaaaaay down here at the southern tip of florida

i know its difficult/expensive for bands to get down here sometimes, so hopefully they will play somewhere in the orlando/tampa/st. augustine area

hell, i'd even fly to atlanta if I could swing the time off from work

here's hoping to more dates being announced

ynwa

i'd love, love, love to do red rocks but airfare alone puts it outta my price range.  which is a total bummer bc i've never been there, always wanted to see a show there & to see mmj there would be heaven on earth.

here's hoping they add more dates, say... w/in a few hrs drive from NJ... (even though we got totally spoiled in 2010)  :)

congrats to all who got the good news yesterday & good luck to all trying for tix today!

Dude! I think I am down for the Montreal show! That is the closest one for me. I wish it was on a weekend though. I am def going to Mt Jam. I have wait and see if I can get off work those 2 days so I can drive up for it. But I have Montreal!

You best be coming to Chicago, Mr. Ruckus.   :bath:

I wish I could Ms. Lady!  And I probably would if I wasn't flying across the pond that same day to spend some time with my niece and nephew for 10 days.  I think I did my fair share of Jacket shows last year.  I'll patiently await Merriweather II to be announced. :)

Being from Massachusetts and ruling out Mountain Jam, yesterday I found myself debating between Toronto or Montreal. I saw Pearl Jam in Toronto in '09, so I was leaning towards Montreal for a new experience. Then I realized it would be naive of me to assume that they aren't going to announce more dates (or at least that's what I'm hoping for!). So far they've only announced 16 shows, which would be their 3rd lowest total since their inception in 1999. If you exclude '99 and '09 (when they strictly played abroad), the average amount of shows they've played in a year comes out to roughly 70. I'm certainly not expecting THAT many to be announced, those numbers are a bit skewed because of '02-'03 but I'm definitely expecting more than 16. MMJ seems to be growing in popularity and they're releasing a long awaited album in late Spring. I'm gonna hold off on getting Montreal tix in the hope/expectation that more East Coast dates will be announced, and more specifically, New England.

They've already said "More dates to come!" I'd expect eastern half of U.S. and shows abroad. I'm hitting chicago but am wishing for Nashville/Louisville/Columbus/B-Ham/anything in the midwest/south a couple hours from Louisville.
