Keep Soulshine in your thoughts today, she goes in for (outpatient) surgery on her ankle. Fortunately, she may be in a walking boot by the day of the show, unfortunately she broke it pretty bad so that's a maybe. In any case, we'll have to figure out the handicapp'd accommodations at Red Rocks. Not really gimp friendly. Definitely no running of the tarps for her!

The good news is we'll figure out and she WILL be at the show.  ;)

THis just means that ms. y will have to fly in for Red Rocks so she can coach Soulshine on how to rock hard at an MMJ show while injured.  ;D ;D

Red Rocks Staff Member Breaks it Down

I got there about 15 minutes after doors at 6 p.m. for 7:30 start time, and the front 24 were fairly crowded, but I was able to get three seats on the end of the 14th row. The footprint at RR is so narrow, that is like being on the edge of the middle section of some sheds.

The security searches weren't too bad.

Soundgarden is definitely not my cuppa. I was familiar with Black Hole Sun of course, but the rest was too harsh. I like a bit more melody in my rock. I didn't know any of MMJ songs before my first show either, and loved it all immediately. Not this time.

Yeah, I'm pretty amazing, huh? 

Actually, I was just doing a Google Images search of "My Morning Jacket poster" and scrolled down through 18 pages.  The image that turned out to be the Red Rocks poster looked unfamiliar to me, so I went to its source, the Facebook page for the artist/studio.

For the Montreal poster, I went to Branjo Farms to see if my hunch was correct, that poster artist Brandon Jones was A. Man from Okonokos and Unstaged.  He had a slightly different version of the Montreal poster on his site.

Just luck, time to spare, and a personal mission to research early MMJ posters recently that led me to this one.
