if someone in GA pulls out their tarp to save spots for their friends coming 2 hours later, i'm going to laugh and set it on fire....not sure why this bothers me so much..

I love the way you think.  I hate that bullshit too.

Tarps and beach balls beware.... Penny's in the house. !!  ;)
.   Sooo wrong..............., you set it on fire.......THEN laugh

Careless?  That was perfect synchronized air-chord, my friend.  Flawless.  I haven't done it since, as I'll never achieve such perfection again.

Who ever heard of a crowd letting some schmuck from 7 deep take the rail, even for one song?  You guys made it happen.  Thank you.

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Wow- couldn't sleep and really blathered last night.

It looks like a crew from this thread will be able to check it all out at Flaming Lips, which is selling slightly faster than MMJ. I haven't decided on that one yet, though it would be fun to get acquainted if everyone is planning on hanging together. How bad do you all want good GA seats for the Lips?

e_wind

Im fucking STOKED to see the Flaming Lips perform the dark side.... I missed it at 'roo 10. However, because of travel plans I don't know how early I'll be able to get there.

As of now you can't find a ticket at ticketmaster for the Flaming Lips show at Red Rocks :'(. I'll keep on trying, now that I know I'll be in Colorado a week before the show. Tickets were available last week but I couldn't pull the trigger :-\.

No Flips show for me...kind of regretting it now. Maybe at ticket will pop up before then and I can get to the show. Can I still go for the partying and just hang around the venue? I'm down for that.

On a completely girly side note, I bought the cutest gingham print dress today to wear for the MMJ show.  :)

Flights booked!! Woohoo ;D

I couldn't find a decent Tuesday flight, so coming out Wed. arriving 7:30 am. No luck with a Sunday return, so I'll be returning Sat.5:45 pm. Bummed that I'll have to pass on the Saturday night Rockies game, but really looking forward to the shows.

Less than a month and counting. ;)

i was going to start researching the transportation for the Flaming Lips/MMJ shows to/from Red Rocks---so is the consensus NOT to book it from Crispy's place? ...but then we'd all have to find transportation to Soulshine's in Boulder...i need some geographical clarification on this----

if the party bus is picking us up in Boulder, we'd still need drivers to drive everyone from Crispy's to Boulder..

also, just checking as to whether everyone still wants to do this?..we need to leave EARLY from what i've read and heard..

I need to talk with Soulshine again to see what's up with the bus -- if they'll go to the cabin, that would be great, I just assume they won't. My thinking if not is that we'll have several cars at the cabin to shuttle with for those that are up there. I think Eric is renting a car, have you checked with him on that? Those of you getting in on Thursday might want to skip the trip up to the cabin, as we'll want to head to Red Rocks early in the afternoon, at least I will.

I'd be up for driving one of the nights to/from wherever we need to pickup the party bus, if it won't come up to the cabin. I'd also be willing to chip in a few extra $ to get them to come up to the cabin and get us, if they're willing. ;)

I've reserved a Jeep Grand Cherokee that seats five and four bags. I can upgrade or cancel the reservation up to the day of rental with no charge. If we need to go bigger, we can, but the price jumps a decent amount.

Beth & I rented a car also and will be happy to help out with transportation for both the Lips and MMJ shows.  Always happy to get there early and me thinks the party bus is a great idea if logistics work out.
was some shakin' and some record playin'

have to wait til friday to book, but i hope to be on the same flight out as eric & penny (early weds).  i think ky's arriving a little later & the plan is to wait for her & then all drive in the one rental car to crispy's...

i procrastinated & did NOT buy my F. Lips ticket for Weds night yet.  i'm not that fussed so if a GA ticket pops up, i'll join y'all.  if not, i'll most likely pass on the show.  either way, i can be a DD if the party bus isn't happening.  i'm very ok with having a sober night on weds

thursday morning i'm picking up lil sis from the airport - have to confirm her arrival time but pretty sure she's getting in early enough to where we'd be able to join y'all on the party bus, if that's happening.  which i think is a great idea.  especially considering that i prefer to not be sober for the MMJ show ;)

just a thought, but would anyone else consider getting a hotel room closer to the venue for that night if it makes the party bus thing more do-able?  i can look into places if there's interest...

re: tarping - yes, there is definitely such a thing as good crowd etiquette.  my thoughts are that it's all relative.  as long as everyone minds their manners, i couldn't care less.  but if need be, i'm good for a "this is my dance space, this is your dance space" convo ;D

less than 1 month  :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Hey Denver peeps. I just did the price line bid thing and am not regretting it. I ended up with a hotel called Howard Johnson in wheat ridge... Is no bueno? Hopefully there's a cancellation policy that isn't outrageous. It's 20 minutes away from red rocks according to map quest which means super expensive cab rides

and anyone with cars that could lick us up on the way to the venue either nights would be awesome... We actually are meeting people the second day which is why I opted out of the party house, cause I don't know how many will be staying in the hotel the second day after jacket

I have only been skimming about this party bus thing, but if that doesn't work out, I have a minivan that will carry 7 total. I live in Westminster, so it's not a huge diversion to pick up a crew in Boulder or wherever. My Wife has backed out due to a conflict, so that means room for 6 more if we have a JacketFestWest caravan.

Rizzo

Rizzo & Rizzo's Gal live in Denver central. We've both got to regrettably work in the morning but are planning on getting in line around 3:00 pm and would love to meet some more of you people.  We'd offer to provide some transportation but we've already got a car full.

Howard Johnson's in Wheatridge shouldn't be too bad, although I've never personally stayed there. Wheatridge isn't too far from venue, but anywhere is a bit of a shlep to RR.  There's also a couple of Bed and Breakfasts in Morrison I think, at least there used to be, which is the little town that RR is in.  We hope all of you enjoy our town. A show at RR is magical - especially a MMJ show.

TEO

One thing I did not like about the Circuital Show was being locked into a seat position. I am going to wander all over Red Rocks to get my Groove going!  :)
