baby mmj was an angel.  such a good sport for all of the nuttiness going on around her.

god i am just cracking up reading thru this stuff!  soooo many good one liners ;D ;D ;D
my favorite - during jim's yoga poses: "i wish i could JUMP on him right now.  god, the things i would DO!"  - crazy love.  i like her style & i like her moves

that pic from the loft is gonna be my go to shot when i'm having a bad time.  how could you not feel good looking at that?!  THANK YOU CRISPY for welcoming us into your home.  even us sketchy nj peeps, so what if it was just to help feed the wildlife.  That sure was some D-lish guac.

Wonderful time folks! Got back late last night, still haven't had to time to fully process it!

Hanging out with all you guys was once again the best time I've ever had, hope to do it again soon.

In the meantime I'm putting together a public photo gallery on The Steam Engine. I've got Headhunters, Jeff Luke and my pictures up. If you'd like to share some shots from this weekend shoot them to thesteamengine23@gmail.com and let me know what name should get credit for them and they'll go in the JacketFestWest2011 gallery! Right now we've got around 100 cool shots in there.

Here is the gallery so far:

dear lovely forum peeps,

i was behind y'all in line and had the opportunity to chat with a few of you.  i was the one who took your group photo - and almost ran with that sweet camera.

thank you TEO for the "VIP" bracelet - even if it didn't get me into the first 2 rows...3rd row center was ok i guess.

thank you "Salt Lake City dude" (sorry i never got any names besides TEO - forum or real life) for the stickers and buttons.

thank you to the cute young gal for the great conversation on the merits of BJ Cole vs. Nick McCabe.  loved your pics of Mad Richard too.  never thought i'd be talking BritPop on line at the MMJ show, but it put a smile on my face.  btw my innernets handle has always been "elephantstone" - now shortened to e-stone.  i trust you know where that's from

you guys have a great little family going on here.  i can't tell you how refreshing it is to see people as geeked out over great music as i am.  that kind of passion is few and far between with the friends i have these days.  hope to see y'all out here again.

hey estone---it was very refreshing to be able to talk about Richard the Stone Roses---i get a lot of flak for that! of course i know where it's from! thanks for taking our picture and being a part of our tailgate. (and of course there's no comparison between BJ Cole and Nick McCabe is there?)

Hey e-stone-- great post!  was truly a special day into night,.

we will have to talk to management as that VIP bracelet should have got you into row 1 or 2, not all the way back in row 3   ;)

thanks for sharing the passion. (and for the great group photo)

Un friggin believable.    Just got back yesterday and finally had tome to read thru this thread.   I'm in tears of joy seeing all the pics.   What a memorable weekend.   My brain is fried.   I could go on and on but the memories that stick out for me the most are these and somewhat in order!

1.  Hearing someone yell BH and looking up to see TEO and Pennylane 100 feet above in line to get into the venue!   Ha!   I'll never forget that.
2.  Squeezing in the second row and seeing everyone after thinking I may have lost my chance at getting some peep time in.  (Thanks especially to Seeker who definately gave up some elbow room because of me.   I owe you one big time.)
3.  Getting a new Jacketfest bracelet from TEO and meeting and getting a Jacketfest button from EWind.
4.   Walking up to the very top of Red Rocks with my wife to watch the sun going down and Denver in the distance.   Just plain sick venue.   Yani would rock there.
5.   Lay Low, holy shit.
6.   Seeing Ms Y. in the front where she should be, and only being one row behind!
7.  The Bear.  :'(
8.  First Light Tonight.
9.  Seeing Ky rock the fuck out and having a flood of T5 memories wash over me.
10.  Looking at Baby MMJ sleeping during Slow Slow Tune.  Wow.
11.  Backwards Sick Ass Dondante.  My wife: "Are you crying?"  Me:  "Yes, yes I am."
12.  Stangulation?   STRANGULATION?!??!?!  I love the moments when so many forum peeps are at a show and we all just look around with that look on our face like, "Yeah, this is going to be good."
13.  Our crew chanting at the end of Touch Me II.  (This might have been the highlight in a strange way for me.   I felt so close to all of you at that moment.)
14.  Having breakfast a 1:00 am with my wife talking about the show.
15.  Being sad about missing the Chrispy Cabin Experience.  But.....
16.  Drinking 247 Two Ounce microbrews at the Keystone Beer and Bluegrass Festival and then watching the Lolla webcast at the condo to close out may amazing weekend.  It was very Circuital.

After seeing all those pictures, it just warms my heart knowing you guys had another great couple of days.

Finally, I had no idea till the next day that Burwell did the poster.  doh!  It is going to be my lifelong mission to find me one of those.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

So awesome to see you there and get to rock out with you once again, man. Missed you at the cabin in a big way, but then I would have had to get that bourbon condensation thing going on too.

Speaking of bourbon, last night I finally got to crack open the bottle Eric gave to me, and it is fucking fantastic -- best Manhattan ever.

247 two ounce microbrews! You know, that sounds like a lot, but when you figure it out, it's only a little over 41 beers. Big deal!  ;D

Other items:
The mountain lion fence! Very effective, that, especially with all that fresh Jersey meat available on the other side.

Hand-shucked sweet corn! Ky and lil sis did a hell of a job cleaning all eight of those ears in only about 45 minutes!
"...it's gonna be great -- I mean me coming back with the band and playing all those hits again"

The chanting at the end of Touch Me 2 is awesome because we've come to expect it live so you can pick out the crazy people that've seen em a ton of times

Agreed! We have to keep this going.

BH I love everything you said. Also...your wife is a babe. And yes, I feel comfortable saying that. But really...it was a delight to see you. What I loved most about this trip was reuniting (even if briefly) with folks from T5. After that trip and everyone slowly took their turn leaving town, I felt this sadness of "Oh, well I'll never see most of them again." And, alas, there were all your faces, rocking out together as they should be.

And all those microbrews! Nice. Any standouts??

Crispy...me and lil sis worked hard on that corn!!!  ;)

Yes! New audience participation item!

There was homemade jam, Ky -- I know those two nice pint jars of strawberry(!) rhubarb jam sitting on the counter were hard to spot through the haze, but they were there, as was the open one in the fridge that I mistakenly left. /crying/

I think I actually did not express to everyone that anything in the place was free for consumption, so I apologize if that wasn't clear. If everyone was feeling like I was Saturday morning, maybe that's why there wasn't a whole lotta breakfasting going on.
