Love that pic, Ky!

I would do a JFW every year even if there isn't a show and sit on Crispy's porch for hours. Next time I'm bringing a book. Some Willa Cather would be completely appropriate.
That's pretty much what I do while I'm there! The book and the view get about equal time.

I thought I'd share a couple pics. First, a bit of that view:

The campfire aftermath (not as bad as expected - no mountain lion-gnawed Jersey bones!), with eric helping pick up:

Back at home, the beer fridge gets a sweet new addition (thanks, ynwa!):

The inside gets some love too after a trip to Colorado:

i also have a beer fridge thats the only place i put stickers. its all MMJ stickers and local bussiness stickers. i shouldve stocked my fridge with some colorado beer! I did however bring home a set of Boulder Beer pint glasses.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

Here's hoping for a Red Rocks JacketFestWest gathering every summer.  MMJ fans are waaaay cool in my book!
I would LOVE to do a JacketFestWest every year.  Camp Crispy 2012???

If this happens again next year I am NOT missing it!
So, I do believe.....

Not bad at all considering all of that devil's water we were drinking!  Could have been much scarier.

seeker - great to meet & chat w/ you.  headhunter is right - you are a professional.

ky - great pic!  it's literally a snapshot of my camp crispy experience.  which i'm missing so so much.  and of course you said willa cather!!!  wonder twins, activate!  take shape of a bear!  take form of a bucket of water!  (need to take care of that sage jason missed)

crispy - great pics too!  i'm in love with that view!!!  also, very honored & sorta blushing that my flair made your beer fridge  cheers!  the campfire aftermath was a little disappointing, tbh.

i would absolutely do camp crispy every year, even if mmj wasn't playing RR.

I'm really enjoying all the pictures and cheerful glow this gathering produced. I am very much a "civilian" among all you hard-core MMJ fans (I didn't understand the Touch Me Part 2 chant for example).

Thanks for letting an old rocker, but MMJ newbie (only my 4th MMJ show!) share it with you. I am really sorry My Wife couldn't meet all you cool people, but she was training for a Triathlon which she did on Sunday. My Wife and I will do our own traveling to Alpine Valley Wisconsin for PJ20 over Labor Day Weekend.  I hope that at least Jim James will show for that one too. The great time I had with you all, will set a high bar for that event.  I will surely post about that experience somewhere on this forum.

Here's hoping for a Red Rocks JacketFestWest gathering every summer.  MMJ fans are waaaay cool in my book!

I beg to differ.  You are no newbie my friend.  You are a Professional.  As I said to you last week, so glad you were wearing the Roll Call shirt and it was a treat to hang out and rock out with you.  Our group had veterans and rookies and each and every one made the "whole" greater than the sum of it's parts.

This is why MMJ forum folks effin' rule.  The vets welcome the rookies with open arms.  I, too hope to meet you guys (the people I follow, adore, and emote with on the forum) in person someday and rock on with our Jacket fever!
Give me a butt load of reverb on this one - just pile it on.

Of course I said Willa Cather! We're wonder twins. We share everything. We're like Anne and Diana from Anne of Green Gables. Bosom friends.  ;D We even notice the same kind gestures a person makes when everyone else is oblivious.  :-X I'm going to give you the biggest hug tomorrow.

just watching the bear > steam. I think my life is all downhill from that moment. it makes me sad that theres no still no recording...

edit: full body chills when the first "so" comes in...

BH

Holy shit, do I spy Ranger IPA in a can?

GET OUT!!
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Ruckus

Imma gonna steal that Crispy Fridge I tell ya!

Hey BH, the Vanilla Porter was OK but that's really not my style.  I'm a IPA/PA/Pilsner guy and a good Irish Stout guy.  I was actually kinda disappointed with the Breckenridge beers.  There's so much good stuff coming out for around here, I usually don't stray too far from the local stuff.  Heavy Seas represent!
I love Dale's as well of the Oskar Blues contingent but I can never splurge for the Gubna.  15 bucks a 4 pack is steep for me.
Can You Put Your Soft Helmet On My Head

Crispy

It is Ranger in a can, and you just come out here and try, Ruckus! I'll give you as many beers as you can drink, but you ain't taking my fridge. I was hoping you guys would enjoy that photo.

Have you had O'Dell's 90 Shilling, Ruckus? An excellent Scotch ale, one of my favorites from the old Ft. Collins days.

Right on. I can't get enough of the 4:15 mark where the wind blows and Jim keeps hitting those notes. Gives me chills for sure. That was a magical moment indeed and will be hard to top for me, too...

Oh man.  My heart was so full after those two songs back to back.  It was prob my favorite Jacket moment to date.  The first "so" is always chill-worthy but last week it nearly made me burst into a million pieces.

I don't want this thread to end.  Is it really over?  Is this real life?  :'(

We won't let it end, and it'll never be over for me.I keep reliving parts of it every day, it seems. So many great memories that'll last me the rest of my life.

I think we crammed so much into such a short time, that we'll have enough material to keep this thread alive until the next JacketFestWest!
