Have you ever shed tears at a Jacket show?

Ok,
So I was thinking about the upcoming tour and my mind is going crazy in anticipation. I think back to seeing MMJ at my first show in Milwaukee at Summerfest 2006. As the show was going on, there were fireworks going on in the background and I just got overcome with emotion!

There are usually moments in an MMJ show that I just have to stop rockin' out and take in the emotion that I'm feeling.

I'm curious about other stories some on here may have.....what songs bring out the most in you? Certain venues? Etc....

no.

shocking answer from a guy with "plop go my balls on your chin" under his name

I haven't but I understand the sentiment. Their music makes me feel deep emotion. the slow burn of the guitars and vocals is overwhelming a lot of the time. CANT WAIT for the two shows I'm hitting

:( I'm sorry.

I'm that way with a song by Wilco. Love the song, but can't listen to it without thinking about someone

I just posted in another thread that I could hardly see the stage at my first show, but I did look up at that point in Lay Low when Jim, nearing the end of his vocal duties, reached out with his left arm for the guitar tech to bring him his flying V.  I had an emotional reaction to that moment that stayed with me.

This rough video of that very moment brings me back, right at 2:13

Great thread! I haven't been to any show yet, so don't know how that will be, but I imagine it will be pretty emotional. I experience so many feelings when listening to the music at home, it's hard to even put into words, it's just wordless love! I have to think about which songs that makes me the most emotional... hmm... to be continued!

If they play Steam Engine, I'm a mess.

This.....
Opener at Ziggy's Winston Salem 6/6/05,1st note and I was a mess.

yes, nashville last april, when my buddy came back from the concessions and informed us that they had already stopped selling beer. :'(

yeah, tears made of solid rock!.....No not really, but cried probably. Too many emotions at those shows that I'm sure tears of complete joy have leaked from time to time.
Oh, I will dine on honey dew And drink the Milk of Paradiseeeee

Not a jacket show, but I did actually cry at a Pearl Jam show.  It was during the song "Inside Job," which is strange because I had never really paid that song much attention before.  But I had been drinking at it just kinda hit me.

Here's my man card.

Bonnaroo 08 ...but I was so high I don't think it counts.

No, but I have come close (probably during Magheetah at the 40 Watt show in 2005) but that was ecstacy and tears of joy (but I blamed the cigarette smoke  ;))

I did cry at a Bob Dylan show in 2000 when he played Not Dark Yet.

numerous times...

first show ever at Radio City, definitely cried a bit during The Bear...cried again for that one at Terminal 5. First jacket song that ever really really deeply effected me.

As others, if Steam Engine gets played, I'm gonna lose it, especially after the initial "take your money and your drugs" explosion, the build up into "all the proof you need" always gets me

I cried at T5 when At Dawn began. I think it may be my favorite album opener on a Jacket record (and I feel bad saying this, discrediting all the others, especially mahgeetah and WC) and the progression from just strumming into percussion, all coming together when Jim bursts in with "at daaaaaaaaaaawn we ride again." Waterworks. Beautiful.

have shed tears during during every Lay Low bridge/solo section I've ever witnessed live. close to musical perfection

Dondante, for sure, every time.

There are just so/too many Jacket songs that I have deep emotional ties with
