What this music does for me

This may sound too dramatic but it is true. After a year of trying to modify my mortgage, due to an incredibly irresponsible spouse, I am probably losing my house, which the down payment was my inheritance. It is leading to divorce and possible bankruptcy. It has ripple effects to our 17 year old son.  I discovered MMJ last April via Okonosis DVD. Since then I have seen them at the Greek, acquired all of their music, thanks to Rhapsody and Sansa, photographed Carl at his Hollywood show from backstage, and have 4 tickets to the Pantages show in LA. My typical day starts with frustration about the impending loss of my dream home, and all that is related. I find some solace in my work because it is important, and I do a good job. But seriously, the only thing that gives me bliss is Jims voice.  I can watch a baseball game and diffuse my mental BS, but watching that Storytellers video I saw linked from this site just makes all the frustration evaporate like nothing else. Is he human?

P.S. Turning 50 in July just does not help the matter!

The man himself sang about it before:

"It's just the way that he sings. Not the words that he says, or the band. I'm in love with his soul...it's a meaning that I understand." He's clearly knows the effect  ;)

That said, I'm sorry about all that you're going through. Hope things start turning around for you soon.

The funny thing about that song, if it is taken as a third person take, is it can seem narcissistic, but he is sooo right on.

I can definitely relate to this, there are many times when Jim's voice just takes me away to a place that helps me cope and deal with tough family issues as well other difficult times in my life.
Its funny, when I'm in a good mood I toss on MMJ, when I want to get away for awhile from things going on in my life I toss on MMJ.

Jim's voice hits that spot in me that helps me escape, which is needed sometimes.
