Nice looking setlist here from The Steam Engine website.  Horns!!!  I wish they still played shows like this one.

Wilco week starts this Wednesday! Perfect antidote to the post Crazy Horse tour blues...

Who's getting up at 5:30 Chicago Time with me?

Live Concert Webcast from the Sydney Opera House

Cheers, ralph! (I want to call you "Dive")

I'll be up and listening.

You can call me whatever you like crispy!

Last night was the 1st night of the Opera House run. Shortest non-festival Wilco set I've ever seen. All done in just on 90 minutes. Felt like it was over just as it was getting started. Bit disappointing to be honest. Hopefully tonight they go a bit longer due to the webcast, but I'm not getting my hopes up....

The 2 Melbourne shows were also hampered by curfews but were both 2 hrs. Great shows though.

Shouldn't be complaining really. The last 4 weeks have been insane. 8 crazy horse and 4 wilco shows. Now I've gotta pay the credit card off so I can afford Bridge Benefit in October...

Live stream is awesome so far. I need every morning to start like this.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

Well, so much for my plan to see this, I woke up at 2 after having crazy dreams about getting webcasts set up and couldn't go back to sleep. When I finally did get back to sleep, I had more crazy dreams and sure as hell didn't want to get up at 5 when the alarm went off, so I shut it off and went back to sleep. With more crazy dreams, this time with MMJ playing at a nice theater in Oklahoma that doesn't exist, and Jim James complimenting my smoking jacket.

Maybe I can catch a replay or something.

You do have a nice smoking jacket.

Greetings.

We're only 58 days out from Solid Sound, and things are heating up so let's get right to it.

Wilco's Friday night set at Solid Sound will be comprised exclusively of fan-requested songs, including covers. The band is now taking song submissions and promises to learn 50 of the requested songs. Submit your request now, but make it count — you only get one. Do it HERE.

If you're coming from Boston or NYC, let Peter Pan do the driving. We've teamed up with Peter Pan to bring you right to the festival gates, for only $40 each way. The buses will have wifi, power outlets, movies, and best of all, you don't have to drive. Check out a new promo video below & get more info HERE.

Have a good camping story? Send us your best one by Midnight on April 30 and you could win 4 tickets, a campsite, tons of gear from Mountain Hardwear & more. All the info HERE.

We've also created a festival-specific Spotify playlist. Subscribe by May 15 and you could win tickets & more. Info HERE.

To top it all off, we've added the fantastic (and local) Sean Rowe to the lineup. As always, the latest and greatest info is here: solidsoundfestival.com

Since there was much talk about Wilco in the Americanarama thread, I've been trying to make connections between MMJ and Wilco, since people who like one band are "supposed" to like the other. I dont think they are the same band at all, but songs I've thought about so far that are similar....

I agree about Dancefloors and Monday being very similar.  Amazing.  I'm starting to "get" Wilco a bit, but I don't see them becoming a top 10 favorite of mine.

Don't Fear the Reaper collaboration is great.  I really hope they do that together this summer.

EDIT -- thanks bartel.  I fixed incorrect name above.

I also wanna say that I'm watching AoAF right now, and theres not a person in Wilco that isn't a genius at their instrument (or song writing in Tweedys case)

This soundcheck version of "Ashes" is one of my favourites. Beautiful.
