Should we be concerned? No posting from DejaView2011 for over 24 hours.

Did he make it through his first gig, or was the meltage too severe?

I like to think of him driving around the backstreets of L'ville in a post-Jacket haze, the strains of HOTBM blasting from the windows of the Circuitalmobile...

Hey folks. Nope. Haven't been in jail (praise jeebus) and made that long assed. Drive back yesterday. But this turned into one rock n roll road trip from hell, as my buddy was more interested in my car and exploring Louisville rather than resting up for the show. The temperature in The Palace killed him and his discomfort, hurting feet and complete lack of enthusiasm blew the whole experience for me. Not to mention getting home to find the contractors got NOTHING done in my absence. I don't even want to try and calculate the money wasted on this EPIC FAIL for my first MMJ concert. Next time I'm leaving the kiddies at home. I've got 2nd row for Chicago and pit for GA. & NC.  Ill NEVER allow this to happen again. I can't even listen to CIRCUITAL without getting angry at this moment. I missed virtually everything. But payed for it all dearly. I haven't even seen the poster. Sorry about my absence. Open wounds and all that shit...
Why does my mind blow to bits everytime they play that song?

Wow, sucks man. I've taken the wrong person to an MMJ concert before and it really killed the whole damn thing, exactly like you said.

Ughhh I'm so sorry about that and feel your pain. For the YUM! show I took a dear friend who was such a trooper until the show started. We were on the rail and she just couldn't hang... three songs in she bailed due to "noise" ::) No matter how much we want it some non-followers just can't be converted. Take comfort in the fact that all your upcoming shows will kill!

wow. that's heartbreaking :'( Is your friend still alive? I'd have trouble not killing him to death should I ever be put in that situation. You're a trooper for sure. Not sure I could have put up with that. You're a better man than I

no way you left half way through Wonderful over heat and achy feet.  gotta be more to the story?  if you don't want to share i understand but this is getting very interesting.  please tell me you just did some shrooms or acid, couldn't handle it, and had to hightail it outta there.  Damn, that would make more sense.   ;D

been there for sure dude.  at least you've got a great spot for your next 3 and you'll be surrounded by other people who are into it.  the one thing I've learned about MMJ's crowd is that the more hype you are the more hype they are and the more hype the band is.  can't imagine being with somebody who wasn't into it.  I'd probably punch them in the stomach if it happened to me.  tear it up next time twice as hard to make up for this one.

Wow Deja...

That sucks goat nuts. I let nothing get in my way of having a fucking good time at a Jacket show. Sorry to hear it bro. There will be tons of great shows ahead of you though. That show was stellar.  Don't see how someone couldn't love every minute of it. It was hot as fuck though.
And all that ever mattered will some day turn back to batter, like a joke.

Yep.... u can definitely relate. I'm moving by it and adding red rocks to make up for it. Time to start smiling again. Everytime I listen to "Wonderful" I remember why this band moves me so deeply. After having just relocated from south Florida to Virginia, that songsays it all for me.

At least you've got the forthcoming dates to look forward to.
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

your friend sounds very selfish.  surely he knew how much this event meant to you.  nothing short of a death in my family could have removed me from my seat that night.

you are handling it better than i would.

Amen!  Even if it was my wife that was acting that way, I'd show her the where the exits are cause I am not leaving (Ok, really I would buy her a water to cool her down and rub her feet so that I could stay and listen to the magic).  These things happen though.

I am still trying to digest the rock show.  Here are some of the highlights that stuck out to me as I reminisce:

Main Positives
1)  Holdin on to Black Metal then Highly Suspicious was an incredible back to back.
2)  Tyrone.  Never seen that performed and it was pretty badass.
3)  Loved the version of Smokin from Shootin.  Very cool Patrick drumming through out the song.
4)  Slow Slow Tune then Movin Away was a very incredible slow jam back to back.
5)  Though I have seen it several times, Dancefloors was absolutely awesome.
6)  Played every single song off their new cd.

Main Negatives
1)  It was hot as hell.  I didnt mind myself being overwhelmed with the heat but it seemed to drain the crowds energy quite a bit.  Usually their show is a huge party of sorts with dancing and the such.
2)  I was sitting way in the back of the balcony because ticketbastard messed up with the whole Citi card bullcrap.  The crowd up there was not very lively.
3)  My favorite song, Dondante, was not played as well as I would have like it to being in the Palace.  I am never disappointed hearing it but I felt they have played it much better in the past (municiple auditorium sticks out as the best I have seen of that song).
4)  They only played one song from At Dawn and none from Tennessee Fire.  Would have killed for Strangulation.
5)  Erykah Badu was awesome and all.  But didn't care for them doing one of her songs.  It was cool I guess but I want all Jacket songs.  That's what I paid for afterall.

There may seem like a lot of negatives up there, but they pail in comparison to the laundry list of awesomeness that unfolded on that stage.  Loving the new album and loving the tour ahead.
And all that ever mattered will some day turn back to batter, like a joke.

She was in the skit before the encore. I was wondering if they showed this live?
