Looks like the boys have been confirmed to play Ottawa on July 13th.

Gonna be pretty hard to pass this one up. With Toronto on the 11th, and Montreal on the 12th, this presents the chance for a mini-T5 done Canadian style -- three shows in three nights!

Northern Neighbour

I'll definitely be there for the Ottawa and Montreal shows.  I don't think I can do the Toronto show, however, as I have tickets to U2 that night.  The wife and I probably will skip the U2 show as well since we'll be seeing them elsewhere and we'll need a break from the 12-day Ottawa Bluesfest.

johnnYYac

Looks like a good chance I'll be there.  Only 2 hours from Montreal, so...
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

GO4IT

Since I'm traveling to see the Toronto show and the wife and I are taking the whole week for an unstructured vacation, I guess Ottawa becomes a no-brainer.  We'll see you there.

It's a 4+ hour drive. Ottawa's a nice city though and the Bluesfest, although nearly devoid of blues, is well run with a normally ecclectic and great lineup. Hey GO4IT, be sure to contact me at some trip pointers. If you want to meet up before the T.O. show, let me know too. I've been known to be a good tour guide.

FYI, here's some of the Ottawa Bluesfest's lineup:

A Perfect Circle
Ben Harper
Billy Talent
The Black Keys
Buck 65

Hey Jaimoe,

Like your list of artists, I saw an article in the Ottawa Citizen that said the Funky Meters were playing the fest as well, but can't find them anywhere on the schedule. Do you know when and where they are playing?

I think just the leader is performing. There's still many top and minor acts not listed/booked yet. I hope for more blues acts.

To add insult to injury, the fest is sponsored by Mill Street, a great micro/craft beer brewery. Their Tankhouse brand is a great US-styled IPA.

This might save folks some time.  I spent quite some time searching for hotels nearby Bluesfest at "reasonable" rates and booked here:

You should book a hotel or B&B downtown. Ottawa's a nice town; the capital of Canada and full of history. The bus system is also reliable and you can walk to the site or take a city bus.

johnnYYac

Done!  GA day passes for July 13 went on sale 20 minutes ago.  $40 and fees.

Hotel booked, tix in the mail, passport ready, coming from NH and Montreal, a little Canadian two-fer, eh?
