Question for anyone out there about warped vinyl. At this time I have no turntable to play my green vinyl, or my other 500 records. My greenies look OK, but my question is, do you have to play them to see or hear the warp, or is it detectable by just holding and looking?

thanks.  I'm wondering the exact same thing.  Trying to find someone local with ability to test for me.   Figured if I have a bad one, better figure it out now, not 3 years from now when I finally get a turntable.

If you lay the vinyl out on a flat surface (ie, table top), it should be pretty easy to tell if it is warped.  If it looks relatively flat, you are probably good.  If one side seems to have a little 1/2 inch curve upward and does not appear to be flat, there's your warp.

That is the only other way to tell.

Well, there is clearly not a half inch warp. You don't need to lay it down for one that big. It appears to be OK. Now to find a decent turntable without spending $500.

Well, I got an email from bandmerch asking which of my orders had the faulty vinyl because I ordered both the limited edition box and the standard vinyl.  I actually haven't opened my standard package so I just told them the green for now and had to send them my order number.

I guess that is some progress.

That is why, in order to guarantee maximum value and listening pleasure, new pairs of brand-new, warp-free green LPs are being mailed out to all purchasers of the "Deluxe Box" free of charge. So watch your mailbox. And hold on to your gatefold sleeves and jackets, folks, you'll be needing those for your new discs.

We offer our sincerest apologies for this unfortunate circumstance, and we thank all of our partners in manufacturing and distribution for working hard to help us correct the situation. They all remain committed to delivering top-notch goods and we're glad for that.

we all get freebies...i was just about to buy a black vinyl so that i could play it all the time instead of my green copies...now i'm just gonna put the ones that i am about to get up and play the old ones...mmj is amazing
