So what does "live to tape" mean exactly?

Probably a stupid question to most on here but I have limited musical knowledge.

I keep reading they recorded Circuital live to tape. Does this mean they hit record and they all play and sing together in lieu of each doing separate parts and meshing it together?

Appreciate any insight.

Yes they all sat in the same place at the same time and recorded the music together.
Y'all got any disco ball back there?

pretty much what Rusty said. All playing at the same time like in a live concert and it's recorded. Sometimes it comes across great other times its a mess.

aw dude people complaining about how its sometime a "mess" are full of shit. some of us haven't heard an album recorded live in 5 years, so we're grateful to hear anything at all. fuck this im leaving.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

Gotcha. I LOVE live music and almost always listen to a live concert version of a song over a studio one. Probably explains why I like Circuital so much.
