My friends and I are starting a campaign to replace LOL and LMAO with YMML (You made me laugh). Partly because people very rarely actually laugh "out loud" when they are reading texts and emails and I guarantee nobody's ass has ever fallen off, even with the best jokes. But mostly because we want to see if we can get the cool kids to start using it, and therefore feel a little bit cooler ourselves. As a bonus, it pretty much gets right to the point.

If you guys could help out that would be great.

IDK, man -- I usually just use "Ha!" or "Hahahahaha!," of course with the number of repetitions depending on the hilarity. Plus acronyms drive me crazy, FWIW.

YMML is pretty cool though, because the shape of it reminds me of the sign for "I love you," or the Hang Loose sign.
