Is there any significance to the owl that's always around?

I thought it was kind of a mascot like the bear. Then a co-worker asked while I was getting screwed out of sound check tickets this morning and it got me wondering. Thanks for the help!

Give me a butt load of reverb on this one - just pile it on.

The owls are not what they seem.

Meaning?

A quote from Twin Peaks. Just a surreal quote from a bizarre show, have no idea what it means. Yim is a fan of the show, maybe he knows what it means?

Owls are usually used on docks and boats to keep other birds from hanging around and pooping all over the place... maybe this is their way of avoiding a Kings Of Leon pigeon type situation!
Pretty please with peanut butter pudding surprise on top??

The owls thing, right --- we will decide when you are ready for that, and now is not the time. The owls are not explained, they will make thwmselves known to you when the time is right for them.
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

Yesterday i am driving down a 2 lane road and 2 cars are just stopped. After a few minutes of waiting i see a gentleman carrying an OWL, yes thats right an OWL from the middle of road to safety. My friend asked was she high, i said no im seeing this too. What makes this story really cool is that this happened while we were listening to the Jacket.

Very cool tale!  Must be the season of the owl-- I've never seen one outside of captivity my whole life til Halloween last week..... then when I went to close my bedroom window yesterday afternoon, I startled a bird and it flew up from the ground to the tree outside of my window.... and it was another owl!!!  A small little thing... just perched on the branch outside my window, kinda looking at me like 'what made that noise!?'  And it did the head-swivel thing!!  Looked all around, checked me out a couple times, then flew off to a sunny spot below about 50 feet away......... cutest darn thing... can't believe I've never seen one, then two in one week!

But that's awesome you manifested the one you saw with some Jacket tunes yesterday!  Do you remember which song was on when you saw it??

Not that much help perhaps, but still interesting!
QuoteYeah, we have bears. We have always had animals and shit like that since the beginning of time. There is a bear on the cover of It Still Moves. There is a song called "The Bear." It's been part of the band for a long time. It's our spirit animal. It's our totem. Have you seen those animal totem books? I have a couple of those at home. That's kind of a thing. It's fun. (...) We have the owl, too. I forgot how the owl got in there. But it's been part of album artwork. We had this really cool white owl that we put on the top of the recording desk when we recorded Z, I believe. Ever since then, it has been our mascot as well.

yes there is.

and it has to do with Iron Maiden.

Yes it is a constant reminder to the band never to fly to close to the sun, like Icarus.
