Just got an email from the venue with "helpful day of show info" saying that lots didnt open until 5:30pm with gates opening at 6:30pm.  Seriously??? Can anyone with past Verizon experience debunk this info?
Ugh, I got the same email. Will definitely kill the tailgate party. Any bars close by we can hit instead?

evilurges86

looks like its just going to be you and big herm! we will get the party started!

Well. That's the end of that.  :-\

It was a valiant effort, friend
Thanks. But with this being the 2nd serious attempt that went exactly the same way I think I'm gonna give up on the whole "uniting with other MMJ fans" trip. I love this band so freakin much I just want to be able to share it with others of like minds, but its been literally impossible for some reason to make connections. Its kinda sad. People just generally aren't generally interested in making friendships anymore. /

I say don't give up Deja! I've met so many amazing people through these boards & at shows. It sounds like you've had a string of bad luck. You can always come up to the northeast for a show. The forum folks that reside in this area are undeniably some of the best people I've had the pleasure of hanging out with!
Homer no function beer well without.

Gotta agree with peafunk. Don't give up. The amount of generous, incredible people I've met through being a fan of this band blows me away all the time. And just come to the northeast, we have quite the little army of awesome up here. :)

But I have to say as this band grows, a lot of a-holes will latch on like barnacles. Hopefully they'll shake off as time goes by, but the good people associated with this band will still be there!

Deja, what lot did you end up parking in? I looked for your car in Lot A up until about 6:15 when I went to go get in line, and was keepin an eye out for you around concessions and the merch stand... no luck though  :-\ wish we coulda hooked up, didn't realize there were gonna be 3 different parking lots...

We didn't get to the venue until halfway through Necko's set.

We got to the venue in Charlotte tonight right at 8:45 due to traffic. Got right in and suddenly everyone was leaving..... it started raining. But we went in and just stood and waited. It was awesome. The clouds suddenly parted and the band took the stage and killed (even with the super short setlist) the crowd with music, spectacle and undeniable love. It was magic!!! We were about 3 feet from the stage (saw some faces from here on the board, but didn't get to say hi!) and it was like a sea of bliss, excitement and almost sexual energy that pulsed through the whole set. Jim was amazing in the flesh and hypnotized the entire crowd. I got some great footage of him going wild during 2 songs and just got sucked into the show. There was some guy in front of us that insisted on filming the entire show though and his camera literally blocked our view of Jim for 75% of the show. I almost said something. But didn't.
As I walked down to the pit I had an extra Pit ticket and just held it up and shouted "FREE PIT TICKET!!! WHO WANTS IT???"  Everyone just stared like I was an alien. Then one kinda shy guy said "I'll take it!". And suddenly everyone wanted it. LOL. I guess they thought it was a joke. (Don't people just practive random acts of kindness anymore?) After the show he found me and was so grateful. It made my night to see him that happy.
After that we hit the parking lot, drank some wine next to the Circuital Challenger, gave out about 100 MMJ bumper stickers and I even gave a guy one of the big magnetic Circuital eyes off the car. He flipped!!!! LOL. I love seeing people happy like that.
I'm sorry I missed everyone in Alpharetta. Maybe we can put something together for the next leg of the US tour when they come back.
Until then, spread the love right?
