Strangulation and The Bear! You lucky bastards.

On a side note, good to see Dondante being played more frequently.
Listen! Most of us believe this is wrong.

Haha, I'm wondering the same thing Darkglow. Nice video post buddy.

agreed on that one! Having Dondante was the only other I song I would have loved to have heard in T.O. As a newer MMJ fan I have yet to experience it live...but I know I will some day :)

They jammed that DD out for what felt like 20 minutes.  And it was glorious.

Strangulation!  (haven't heard this since my first show in 04 and i must admit it was my #1 most wanted - can't believe they played it.  It was surreal)

Honest Man!

Lay Low, The Bear, and Steam Engine!

Yeah, i'm good.

Also - please note - when MMJ plays Red Rocks, make the time, save the money and go.  They blew the fuckin doors off the place.
You need it.  That's for sure.

totally blown away by this setlist though... wow! anybody know of any boots for it?

You mean a recording of this show that was played less than 12 hours ago?

That setlist is incredible.  I KNEW The Bear was coming.  Nice call on Strangulation, Ruckus!

Back at you- I'm not an MMJ traveler (yet!) but tried to be the "genial host". Mountain Girl thoughtfully put up a tent at the front of the line and it came in handy during the afternoon showers. Pretty cool for someone from Utah  ;)

gah!  strangulation!  so jealous.  never have seen it live, though i'm sure they've heard me annoyingly yelling for it a couple times.  i've given up being that guy though and will just be really really pleasantly surprised when they play it for me someday.

Sweet lady marmalade that's incredible!

That transition is so butter smooth.  I hope this becomes a reoccurring pairing like Smokin<Run Thru<Touch Me 2

There are no words for this show. None. But here are a few anyway...

Red Rocks is the most incredible venue.
The people that gather from this board are the kindest, most generous, loving people I have ever known.
These guys were on fire. Carl didn't stop and Jim had the best time. Sitting two rows back and dead center with that band in front and a tremendous incline of people behind is a mental image I'll hold forever. When they played The Bear and then went into Steam Engine, I turned to The Steam Engine and we couldn't believe so much goodness had come so early on in the show.

One consensus from the night was that the music didn't stop. It just kept coming. Seeing
ms. y and Crispy rocking out next to each other brought back floods of T5 memories.

Also....as we got to the lot early, a few of us walked the path along the side of the venue. We spotted Jim ahead of us and not realizing he was on the phone I shouted Jim!!! and he just kept walking. Damn. And Crispy I totally blame myself for scaring him off. Ugh.

And happy birthday again to e wind who I am convinced had something to do with Strangulation getting played. Haha.

Another side note about the band. During the first part ofthe show there was a draft of wind comic across the stage. The guys were illuminated and looked as though they were playing against some supernatural force. Someday they will defy the laws of gravity.

One more thing...incredible moment when Jim stopped during Wordless to check in on a situation brewing one row behind us where security tackled a guy. Then he counted back into the song and "agggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!"

It was surreal and amazing to meet up with old friends and be in a beautiful place with folks I have come to know over the last year or two.

If a recording of this show does not surface it will be a damn shame.
Cow temperature.

Crispy

What an unbelievably great show. Best ever -- until the next one, that is. I thought my head was going to fly away when I heard the Bear roll into Steam Engine.

Ky, I hope you don't think I cared about that, I'm a privacy guy. SASQUATCH ALSO NEED AIRTIME FOR SELF
"...it's gonna be great -- I mean me coming back with the band and playing all those hits again"
