Anyone have any plans to post the Boston show to archive.org as an MP3 (and FLAC if you're into that...)?

I have mostly every show I've been to on my iPod and would love to add this one, especially for the epic (and remodeled) Dondante they played.

Thanks.

p.s. I'd love to see MMJ do what Pearl Jam and Phish do - record the soundboard and then offer the shows up for $9.99 a pop. I'd pay for a pristine SBD of a show I went to - anyone else for that?

I saw atleast two rigs that night. I am sure someone will have them up at some point. the process, if I am not mistaken, can take some time.

I'm sure it will take some time... that said, the MSG New Year's Show from 08-09 was up two days later. I'm just like a kid on Christmas Eve, I guess...

Hey, Jorma1, what do you think about what Pearl Jam and Phish do - offering clean SBD recordings to fans for $9.99 (and it's usually 2-3 CDs worth of music, so it's a good price). I bought a PJ show in 2008 at Comcast Center in Mansfield, and I love it - a good, perfect-sounding recording of a show I was at... good dynamics, too, which is sometimes lost with audience recordings.

Confession - I only ever get the MP3 recordings, so dynamics-wise, I guess I 'have it coming' that it won't be that great...

The guy who taped Boston in '08 (my first show) taped Sunday night, too.  He says he'll up it soon.

I've bought CDs from The Dead, Ratdog, and Furthur, sometimes burned on the spot.  I've downloaded some Allman Bros. and Phish.  The thing is, those guys and Pearl Jam have a more established organization to handle such a thing.  I don't think MMJ are quite there yet.  At least, not to where it would break even or profit them.

And look at the time and care they're gonna put into T5 (at least, that's how I perceive it).  I must say, we're pretty lucky with the availability of live recordings, video and audio, taped and broadcast.  Sometimes you have to work for it, but lots of free stuff with MMJ's blessing.

Still, the my best show ever, Portland, ME 10-15-10, has yet to surface... and I know it was taped.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

I do feel blessed, and in fact, I will only ever purchase MMJ music, not copy it from friends' iTunes or CDs or whatever. By doing that, I'm showing my appreciation for them extending the privilege for us to hear a vast majority of their live shows, where they really shine.

Now, if only we could get Neko Case to get on board with archive.org.

What is going on with T5? Are there release plans? Would be cool to see a box set... with DVD highlights of the shows (a man can dream).

yeah, it definitely costs some money to produce even downloads. not to mention there would have to be enough of a demand by all of us for it. i would love to listen to a crisp board from the show...i know i'd buy it.

i will say this, the boards do exist but they are just in the band's vault. most bands record their performances, and even if they don't, most venues will record for them and the masters are usually given to the band.

Being patient, got my hands folded and just waiting...

That said, in the meantime, three shows since Boston have shown up on archive.org. Just saying is all...

Again, I thank every taper in the world for their dedication and personal sacrifice, but as I mentioned before, I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve right now... can't wait to relive that show and get it onto my iPod.

Thanks.

Patience grasshoppers!

This^  Sometimes work and other things prevent us from uploading the next day.  Uploading to archive can take some time as well.  They will be posted eventually.

Let me just add my thanks to tapers everywhere -- I've been totally digging the couple of other shows from this tour that I've downloaded since the BoA show and, as a newbie, highly impressed with the quality of the recordings.

As for Boston (my first in-person MMJ show), I will simply point out that all good things are worth waiting for!

Cheers and  :dankk2:,

I feel the pain of some in here. On one hand im super bummed that I can't relive red rocks, but on the other I know I would rather experience the show then mess with recording devices, so I am thankful for whatever pops up, and cannot complain.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

cant wait to hear this one again. this was also my first mmj show.

Anyone know the whereabouts of the Boston tapes and an ETA for archive.org posting (please add MP3s - I don't get the whole FLAC thing)?

Also, how about that Bangor set that was played without Patrick? I hear they played an acoustic-based set, so that'd be kind of interesting to hear (though Patrick can rest easy that I like it better when he's healthy and playing - apparently, we have an unfortunate thing in common - shellfish allergies - sucks, especially for me living in New England).

i suspect the tapes are ready to go up on dime and traders den. i just think it is up to how much free time the taper has. last week he said it would be up in a couple of days (at the time he was putting the finishing touches to the tape) so, i supposed its just a matter of patience on our part. who knows...

Sigh... starting to lose hope. Been a month, plus...

Anyone out there with a Boston tape from 8-14-11? Love to hear it - it was a good time.  :o
