The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

I don't know what's worse... the legnth of that set or the fact that mahgeetah was cut?

The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.

This is what had just passed over the Uptown Amphitheatre (red dot).

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

There was a rain delay, rained just long enough to soak us for the night and they had to be done by 11:00.  Despite that and the short set they were awesome   And thanks to the sound board guy who gave me his setlist.  Its been a great day!

Chief Mageeetah

Oh, and they didn't play HOTBM like the set list says, they should have marked that out too.

Was gonna say...did I forget something?

Walking out of the venue I was not disappointed.. felt like they put on a helluva show. No encore break. Got home, saw Mahgeetah cut and started to rethink that! lol.

Seriously though.. I don't feel slighted. They played staples and less new stuff, which was fine by me... but the performance was fantastic. I'd much rather they handle it like they did than just say go home and we'll refund your money.

The curfew thing is just frustrating.. there's no residential near the venue.. I suppose the sound carries into the downtown area a bit where there is some residential.. but it can't be that bad. There should be some exceptions.

First time seeing them and I thought it was great.  Was down on the 3rd row of seats taping, glad my gear didn't get soaked.  They didn't waste anytime between songs so we got as many songs possible in there before 11.  I'll post my recording on archive tomorrow and post it here.

Thank you for taping! Can't wait to hear it!

The curfew thing is frustrating, but it is what it is.

What disappointed me a little more actually is that I sat in my seat for 10-15 minutes after the storm passed  before MMJ came back on.  That's 2-3 more songs they could have fit in.  They can't control the rain, and they can't control the storm, but I do think they could have come back out a little sooner.  But they played hard for us, and fit in all they could with no encore break and short breaks in between songs, so I'm not trying to criticize them.  Just pointing out that I sat in my seat with no rain for 10 or more minutes before the show started.  Oh well.  Still loved the show.

On another note, does anyone know what Jim said at the end?  Pretty sure I heard "They're forcing us out of here" (or something to that effect).  And then I understood nothing else.  I got the impression he was trying to convey something "heartfelt"...like maybe "Sorry we had to cut it short, but we played our best for you" or maybe "We had a great time and will be back" or...heck if I know.  Could anyone tell?  With the acoustics I couldn't understand.

Did you have a red t-shirt on with a number on the back?  I was to your right (in Section 101) on the aisle.  I was going to say something to you, but you had so many people coming up to you I'd thought I'd leave you alone and was hoping you would do the right thing, which you are.  Many thanks for recording the show.

they can't control the rain, youre right, which is probably why they made sure everything was cool before they came back out. ya know, kinda like "pools closed until 30 minutes after the last lightning strike"
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

Yea, you know they were monitoring the weather.  I am sure that Sugarland event has everyone scared.  Neko finished at 8:15.  It looked like they could have been ready to come out by 8:45, pre-rain.  Then it started raining and that pushed everything back.  I was not too happy with that venue and might not be back.  I've never been to an ampitheatre where it was completely open like that.  Rain or shine means the show goes on.  I mean, look at the the Golden/Steam Engine video from Bonnaroo.  I know that is edited, but it was raining.  If it had been raining and they were playing, that would have helped the vibe.  Everyone was just sitting in the rain.

I gotta say they sounded amazing as usual...but when you drive three hours from Raleigh for the show, and you get 14 songs...well I am so bummed right now.  It isn't like it's cheap to go to a show, and they have not played less than 21 songs on a headlining show the whole summer, I felt really empty leaving last night.  I wish they could add a make up date for tonight or something.

Ajay

I should add...though they could have started 10-15 minutes earlier, no one that was on stage could have known that as easily as those of us in the open.

And anyone know what Jim said at the end?  He went on for a minute and a half or more it seemed.  It wasn't a simple "Good night, thanks for coming."
