Other than Red Rocks and a couple of the T5 nights, last night was probably the most fun I've had at a Jacket show EVER.

-TMP2 into Cobra, incredible version of Phone Went West

-Jim had some dance moves I hadn't seen before, not as many high kicks, but more of a bust a soul move type of dancing...

-the Mann Center is an awesome/beautiful venue

Totally agree Penny!

I didn't think any show could come close to a couple of T5's or Red Rocks, but last night is right up there. Great to know that I quite possibly haven't seen my best Jacket show yet. I don't mean that in a negative way, just that I didn't think any show could ever come close to those, and last nights was like...hold on a second there's room for more! These guys never cease to amaze me, and keep me wanting to come back, and get blown away over, and over!

The setlist last night was stacked with great tune after great tune. Cobra and PWW had me in the stratosphere! I loved the little changes and different riffs we got in what seemed like several tunes. Especially loved Jim sauntering over Carl's side during Golden and giving us a perfect view of his accoustic playing talent, and the different take on his solo. Almost seemed a little calypso like to me. Can't wait to hear a recording of this show.

Very true about JJ's dance moves, he definitely seemed a bit more like he was really groovin' to me. I thought he seemed to really be into the the crowd up front, and I totally dug all the hand shakes, fist bumps, and interactions he was having. I've seen him do that before, just seemed like he did a bit more of it last night. Maybe it had something to do with all the good looking women up front!

The Mann is a great venue, and would love to go back there again. Especially if I can be in that glorious pit. Roll Call came through BIG time for us!!

A special thank you to a generous forum member who came through for me big time with an extra ticket. It was much appreciated, and couldn't have worked out any better for us. I hope your long ride home wasn't too bad, and I'll be sure and try to return the kindness someday.

It was great seeing all the people here I've come to be so fond of, and it just adds so much more to my whole concert experience. Thanks for sharing another great show, and looking forward to the next one.

Come on NYC show announcement!! I need another MMJ and forum friends fix already.  ;)

good lord, what a night!  on the one hand, it was one of my favorite shows to date because of the fellow super fans who were there, the set :o, the energy of the band, the badassery, and the feel-good vibe of the crowd.  and then on the other hand there were so many other super fans who i wished could've been there to share in this amazing experience.

as always, it was fantastic to meet up & hang with the wonderful people from here.  there never seems to be enough time with y'all.  there were a few surprise appearances which was some really D-lish icing on that cake.

special thanks to ericm for the turkey & cheese sammy.  not only did it hit the spot, but oh boy - that sure was some tasty bread.

penny - your upper body is giving you troubles today because you full-body rocked the fuck out THE WHOLE TIME!!!  i was so excited for you when jim hi-fived you!  sadly i took a mental picture only...

loved that giventofly buzzed the tower!  that was awesome ;D  i was like "hey... is thaaat???" and then security strong-armed you, unnecessarily of course.

umm, yes, jim showed off some new dance moves and they were pretty sassy.  not quite beyonce, but all the same - i was NOT ready for his jelly & went ber-zerk.

the new converts in front of us were super cool.  they kept trying to coax penny & me up throughout the night.  well, all i'm gonna say is - a girl can take only so much...  big thank you to those kids

i must admit that the seated aspect was neat-o.  it was really nice not to have to get in line early & then run to try to get a decent spot.  no boxing out necessary, no drunken fools invading my dance space.  the only drawback to this arrangement was that the forum peeps were peppered throughout the crowd, as opposed to being all together.

it was a tad strange that the crowd thinned out so much as the night went on.  at one point (before i jumped into the 1st row) i had probably 6 empty seats to my left and 4 to my right.  not complaining tho!

got a setlist!

the drive home was extended by a full hour due to road constuction on the turnpike.  seriously, who else needed to be on the roads @ that late hour beside me, the other nj/ny bound forum peeps & the truckers?  wtf?  i tried my best to not let it get to me, but i admit i had a few mini-meltdowns.  watching the time tick by while the speedometer fluctuated between 0 and 2 mph was a bit much.  got home a little after 3AM, alarm went off @ 5:35AM... eeked into work @ 7AM on the dot (totally forgot my tea on the kitchen counter) to start my 13 hr day.  but a patient brought us brownies - so everything is a-okay

edit: added bonus, not sure why i failed to mention it...  when they started TWTHS, jim walked to the front of the stage, amost directly in front of me & was looking out into the crowd in my general direction it seemed.  i was so happy to hear this song, it holds a  really special place in my heart, so i mouthed "thank you", not thinking he was looking at me.  but he smiled, closed his eyes & nodded his head.  pretty sure he DID see it!  golden moment.

The power of the flying V compelled me.

I enjoyed the luxury of having seats, and was lucky to be in the pit, but honestly nothing beats the front row. It was the very end of OBH, and Jim was on the stage's edge jamming away, so I just had to be there. My stay in the front was short-lived, as I was whisked to outside the pit area quite quickly. I did a quick lap around the orchestra section and tried to make my way back to my seat, but the security lady at the entrance to the pit recognized me and wouldn't let me pass by. The guy who removed me from the front then made his way over with his finger pointed at me, so I got out of there lol

The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.

Worth it, no doubt! Oh, to see a vid of the front row dashing shenanigans.

during highly suspicious and OBH, the lights were hitting YY's flying V at the right angle so that it looked like light was shooting out of it towards the crowd.

What a freaking show. Great to see everyone after I missed Merriweather.

Spectacular show as always! I have to say that this was my favorite of all the shows I attended this tour (I did not attend Red Rocks, unfortunately), and perhaps my favorite of all the times I've seen them including T5.

I thought the sound was excellent and the crowd was great and I can't thank ericm (and roll call) enough for the awesome seat! It was a pleasure rocking out with mymorningtubetop with ericm not far. I really like being on Carl's side, he is a joy to watch and when he was coming to the edge of the stage and rocking and kneeling down that was just so cool!!

Of course the highlight of my evening was when during Z, Jim came over to our side of the stage (which he did rather frequently I might add) and I extended my hand and he actually took it and held it for a little while as he sang - I thought at that moment I might levitate off the ground when that happened! What an incredible experience and I will never forget it as long as I live. (mmtubetop, if you do happen to find a pic please send it to me!) When the show was over I got to shake Carl's hand and also got one of his picks which I will also treasure.

I figured I would not rock out too much as I had to work today, but then I realized this show would probably be my last for a little while at least and commenced with the rocking out. I have to say I feel fine today other than my ears ringing - must have been the fact that I wore sensible shoes this time!  ;D

As always it was great to see everybody and really hope somebody has an extra baseball card for me as I am also a Phillies fan so it would mean a lot to have that momento.

Until next time, it was a blast and I hope we all have many more fun times ahead with the greatest touring band out there right now! Here are a few of my pics, if I have time later I'll post more.

So, I do believe.....

Ghosts_on_TV

Love the reviews (especially yours ynwa!) and so psyched for you guys who got to share all of the wonderful moments (and ESPECIALLY Jim & Penny's high five--you should have slipped a ring on his finger   :o )

what a wonderful mmj summer this has been and it's really amazing to know that after all these many many shows in the past year or so, each and everyone continues to be special in their own right.

hope the afterglow lasts well beyond when the tired exhaustion of the post-show fades away.

You and the Mrs. were definitely missed...but hope you're having fun on your vacation.

Great pics, JaneCool!!  :) I definitely saw that hand-holding moment and it was beautiful.

Gonna follow Ghosts' lead and give some more props to the crowd. Philly did it up right.

lil sis

Oh man.  Last night I was texting ynwa and said "one of you better get a setlist".  I woke up this morning to a text on my phone saying "got one!" and a pic of my sis holding a setlist.  So proud.  Throughout the day I've been getting some snippets of what went down last night and I've been avoiding this thread like the plague all day.  I'm so bummed that I couldn't be there--the worst part of it is that I thought I couldn't make it because of a work priority and I realized yesterday I could have totally made it work.  Oh well.  Not in the cards for me.  So happy that you guys had such an amazing time!  I know it was the last show on this tour for many of you and it really does warm my heart to know that it went out like a bang for you guys.  I will keep praying that we get an nyc show announced soon so I can see all of your wonderful people in one place again!

Missed seeing you last night lil sis. Doesn't seem quite right looking at the  stage and not seeing you right up front.  ;) You'll be glad to know that your replacement really ROCKED THE HELL OUT,and did your seat (though it wasn't ever sat in) proud!  8)

I'm convinced that the good karma around here will come back to you, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see you pull some prime Roll Call seats for your next show or two. I hope to be right there next to you, but if not it'll be great as always seeing you and Liz rock the rail!

Here's to a NYC announcement soon.
