I am not going to NY for this show, but it intrigues me. I looked on the MSG website and it had a seating chart that said MSG theater. Is that the same facility where the Knicks play, just reconfigured? I also saw the seating chart for the whole facility. I would assume it holds at least 15,000 people, especially with an open floor. After playing 3,000 seat venues all summer, with some not selling out, is there an expectation they can carry a venue that large in New York? Obviously they should be able to. Have they ever attempted anything this big outside of a festival?

MSG theatre is a much smaller venue that is part of the msg complex. Knicks play in the full MSG arena, where MMJ will be playing.

Walter's right.

Before this recent renovation, MSG had several different parts in the building. In addition to the big arena, there are professional offices,  a bowling alley, a couple of bars/lounges, and The Theater. I haven't been there since the completion, and looking forward to seeing what they added/subtracted. Thankfully it looks like the Theater hasn't gone anywhere.

The Theater has under gone some changes over the years as well as a few name changes. Pretty sure the last one was called The Paramount Theater, and for us seasoned vets out there, who could ever forget it's original name....The Felt Forum!

This will be one of the first shows since the redesign of MSG. Supposedly the new set up is not as good as it previously was. I think they moved a bunch of the boxes down moved the 100 section above those and so on.
I love MSG and am interested to see how this effects concerts.

I didn't think they had any trouble carrying MSG in 2008 when they played on NYE...

MSG on NYE was not close to being sold out but that was fine by me. I think that for this show they probably will again not sell the tickets behind the stage and the 400 level will probably be empty.
