i like the folky parts more than the FM pop sound Ruckus alluded to. it's the kind of thing that sounds good on first listen but turns me off after awhile. kind of the same reason I never got into The Gaslight Anthem.

Agreed!  I guess you jumped ahead.  I thought I might be ahead a bit.  Redemption lyrically sometimes falls in the "too sappy" for me but is still a beautiful song.

What makes the album for me is Glory Hallelujah as a closer to Eulogy as an opener.  As a devout atheist, I cannot express enough the joy of having an anthem.  I know he has to preface this track live everytime he plays it with a speech saying it's his time to say his peace.

So positive :)

My wife's sister and her VP of a local Oil Company husband are both fanatical Baptists as well as Fox News watching Tea Party wealthy Republicans and Glory Hallelujah is one song I would love to sit them down to listen to!    I get so fed up with having to listen to them act as though their beliefs are the ONLY true beliefs?!  Close minded people suck!

Exactly.  To the believers, more power to ya.  I've said my say in all my school mandate pledges.  My father is a Catholic raised Indian turned atheist and my mother is Japanese raised on Shinto/Buddhist principles.  They've made it work and it had nothing to do with religion.

;D  The Stone Roses were what actually led me to being a fan of ManU!  They still play This Is The One when the players take the pitch at Old Trafford! 

I was actually based in London during my stay there btw...  :P

Pretty much everything Ruckus has said is exactly why I fell in love with this album. You clearly feel that England (the proper country not the Isles, GB, or anywhere else) is the greatest place. Glory Hallelujah is such a fantastic ending...and yes I've proudly been an atheist for 20 years.

I want to sit in a pub and drink and sing to this entire album. Y'all are invited.

There are 3 damn good acoustic versions of Peggy, I Still Believe and I Am Disappeared to end this album...

Going along the lines of Ruckus' description of many of the songs being of a drink and sing along nature, so far this album is giving off the vibe of sort of a toned down Irish Punk band playing traditional Irish folk songs everyone sings along to in the pubs.

Yeah, definitely sing-along songs. Which is perfect for me, because once I know a song, I'm gonna sing along whether that's what the artist intended or not.
