Pretty hard to top that,imo.

I really liked them opening with OBH in St. Augustine, and Merriweather last year though.

not to thread drift, but that whole show was a highlight for me.   Sparse crowds and a great setlist.   Steam engine as opener, plus where to begin, honest man, think I'm going to hell, lowdown, bermuda highway.   You don't see many setlists like that anymore.

The setlists lately have been pretty ho-hum with one or two gems sprinkled in. I hope they're saving up for this leg of the tour and the blowout at MSG.

Gotta figure they're going out with a bang at MSG!! Might be wishful thinking, but you've got to bring your A-game, and bust out when you play the Mecca.

I was there for Furthur a couple of weeks ago, and even though Bobbie and Phil have played there a ton, they friggin rocked out!!  If they can still bring it to MSG after all these years, I'm thinking MMJ will have no trouble kickin' ass and takin' names!

I sure hope so. That's why I picked that concert to be my last one for the year. I had debated going to Florida and seeing them twice, but then I decided that MSG would be the best show to go to. Plus, I'll finally get to meet so many of you.

I think you made a good choice. There's always a ton of energy inside MSG. I know I'm biased, having seen a lot of shows there, but I swear you can feel the electricity in the air.
It'll be nice to meet you too, and hope to see you at Stout NYC for the pre-show get together.

as stated in another thread... HOTBM would be a wild start. As well as Highly and Anytime

We got Anytime as the opener at Red Rocks '08.  I think it worked well.

Non Sin Breaux

I would choose Anytime or The Day is Coming.

hard to top At Dawn IMO.

gardenparty

Portland '08 we got Bermuda highway into at dawn as the sun was setting.  That show was epic

MSchroeder

My first show was Atlanta in 2006 and they opened with At Dawn.  I was expecting Wordless Chorus since they had been touring for Z for a while.  In retrospect the set list from that night was the best I've ever seen - heavy on at dawn, it still moves and Z which are my favorite albums.  That was my first Phone Went West and by far the best, plus I got Easy Morning Rebel, Xmas curtain and by my car!

The at dawn opener is really perfect.

lil sis

I wasn't at the AD night at T5 but would love to have At Dawn as an opener.  Here's hoping!

Out of the 12 times I've seen em' I got to go with OBH in Nashville 2010.  It was like the band was there to kick ass and take names later.  The engery seemed to filter through the rest of the night.  I think they heard someone say "no way they blow the roof off this building",  "yeah, well watch this"!  ;D

One Big Holiday
Gideon
It Beats 4 U
The Way That He Sings
Off The Record
Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Pt. 1
Golden
Carried Away
(Carl Broemel song)
I'm Amazed
Losin' Yo Head
(Monsters of Folk cover)
Lay Low
Anytime
Friends Again
Wonderful (The Way I Feel)
Thank You Too!
Dondante
Smokin From Shootin
Run Thru
(Closing section)
Touch Me I'm Going To Scream Pt. 2
Encore:
Wordless Chorus
Evil Urges
Highly Suspicious
Move On Up
(Curtis Mayfield cover)
Mother In Law
(Ernie K-Doe cover) (with Preservation Hall Jazz Band)
Carnival Time
(Al Johnson cover) (with Preservation Hall Jazz Band)

one of my favorite set lists

Now this is a kick ass set list.  In my dreams - add in War Begun, The Bear, and Where to Begin, and TWTHS = practically perfect.
Give me a butt load of reverb on this one - just pile it on.
