#1 (I like to call this.......BROWN TONE!!) 1:46

The Doors 04 Backdoor Man Absolutely Live

Robby is so underrated.

Great solo to start it off with.

I see your "Back Door Man", and raise you "Hoist That Rag". Solo starts around 1:45. Tom Waits may not be for everyone, but I think we can all agree that Marc Ribot's tone on this downright scuzzy.

Tom Waits - Hoist That Rag

On a sidenote, I can't think of many other Tom Waits songs with lengthy guitar solos.

I can go with that, the entire song has a Dirty tone.  The solo drives it home.

Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

I knew my wife was special when she pointed out how awesome the transition is on this track (which, for purposes of this thread, is the tone I'm talking about)

Frank Zappa - Son of Orange County / More Trouble Every Day (Live)

It's not as seamless on YouTube as my vinyl unfortunately

And of course Douggy:

Built to Spill - Carry The Zero

It's hard to pick one Keith riff, but for a non-slide version, I go with this:

Can't you hear me knocking- rolling stones

Then there's my favorite non-MMJ song to see live; a song everyone should experience once in their life.

Wilco - At Least That's What You Said (live)

And finally, Deaner's tone is always mood-appropriate (see: outro)

Ween - The Argus - 2008-07-08

I'm surrounded by assholes

BB King - How Blue Can You Get (From "Legends of Rock 'n' Roll" DVD)

It's tough to match brother Duane's tone on "Dreams"

Dreams HD (HIGHEST RES/BITRATE ON YT) - The Allman Brothers Band - Live Fillmore East 1970

Frank's tone is killer after the 1:45 drum intro.

The Nancy & Mary Music - Frank Zappa

Need I say more? 3:56 is the most chilling sustain I've ever heard. I think this is the most brilliant guitar song ever.
