Okay, its December. Lets do it. I realize that Tuesday holds two big releases (The Black Keys and The Roots), but I can say comfortably that they won't be on my list, so other people feel free to wait until next week.

RULES (COPIED FROM LAST YEAR):

Original US Release year 2011 (no rereleases, etc)
Long Play (No EP, compilation,etc)
Your top 5 Albums the top 10 albums in total points will be the TOP 10.
Assign a total of 50 points amongst your 5 albums
A maximum of 15 pts. for any one album and a minimum of 1 pt.

Post your selections and points by themselves. Then paste in the list, adding any albums w/ points that aren't on the list and distributing any new points onto the score of existing entries.

Albums:
1. Middle Brother - Middle Brother - 12
2. The Head and the Heart - The Head and the Heart - 11
3. Wilco - The Whole Love - 11

5. Iron and Wine - Kiss Eachother Clean - 7

Jason is awesome and I think his star is on the rise.  Penny and I saw him in October and  I'd recommend you catch him in a small venue while you still can.

I'll post my top albums for 2011 when 2011 is over.   ;)

There's still some more music to be released this month.

You should probably change the OP to say:

Original US Release year 2011 (no rereleases, etc)   ;)

...I still dont like the 15 point max thing, it doesnt give enough of a difference between #1 and #5 as apparent by the first few lists, but oh well...

Itll be awhile until I figure out my top 5

Northern Neighbour

While I know this is a Jacket forum, I'm surprised how many people have Circuital in their top-5.  IMO, it's nowhere near my top-5 for this year.  Right now, albums that I am considering for my top-5 include (but not in order):

- M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming
- Smith Westerns - Dye it Blonde

- Thee Oh Sees - Carrion Crawler/The Dream
- Wilco - The Whole Love
