Ru-day

Pretty excited for this show. The Music Box in LA is one of my all time favorite venues...eva!!! My guess is that this will be a sold out show. :D

IN for Boston.   March is getting RIDICULOUSLY good.

(johnny yac - it's a Friday  ;) )

What other shows are looking good around Boston in March? thanks

delta spirit and dr dog for sure.  was considering Head and Heart in Portland now that this is announced, also 3/16, I'm skipping.   Would also like to catch Band of Skulls but that's 3/26, day before Delta Spirit.

Not to steer this thread to far adrift, but it was just announced that Jane's Addiction will be @ State Theatre in Portland, ME on Saturday, March 3rd.  Not sure what folks think of JA, but... cool venue for an established band ("frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins, along with Chris Chaney on bass").
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

anything + reverb always = better

Jane's Addiction in their prime (late 80's early 90's) was just about the best live band I have ever seen.

Everything JA has done since has ranged from horrible (like the new album) to OK when they are in pure nostalgia mode and not playing their new stuff.  Hard to recommend seeing them too highly, but if you like some of their classic stuff and have never heard it live before it would likely be worth it.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

Thanks and sorry about taking us off course but since we're in Maine now may as well mention Black Keys in Portland March 6 and way up there for a ski weekend (if it ever snows) Deer Tick at Sugarloaf Feb11.

Ok resume Guthrie tour talk hope to see some of you there

Also to get this back on track, we are going to the Alexandria, VA shows.  The Birchmere is tables and chairs, but all general admission, so we could try to grab a forum table or 2 or 10, depending on how many of us there are.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

bobby bare jr is opening the VA, PA, NY and MA shows!   Man I wish I could see this tour.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

If you have never seen BBJ live, I promise you, you won't be sorry.   I realize it's probably just a short opening set and not the main reason to be excited about these shows but this is a serious cherry on top.

The wind blew me back, via Chicago, in the middle of the night.

I am pleasantly surprised by Old La. I'm not that into Monsters of Folk at the moment, so I went into this Woody Guthrie Tribute project with a little skepticism. And now I can't wait to hear more!

GO4IT

I'm in for the Birchmere show with 2 others.
Not sure exactly what to expect but if Yim is involved it's got to be something special.

Amex pre sale for the NYC Webster Hall show starts Wed. the 18th @ 12:00 est.
"Where's Jim going?"

APR

I got tix for the Birchmere as well.  As GO4IT says, Yim is involved so it's going to be great.   And if Old L.A. is any indication, the album and show will be really something outstanding.

Dillsnufus

got my boston tix. should be awesome.
