Don't forget to get there early for Bobby Bare Jr.!   You won't be dissapointed.

The show was great.  It kind of rocked a bit for the last 20 minutes actually.  This project exposed me to Anders Parker.... he is awesome!  I'm going to have to pick up some of his other stuff.

Opener had some funny stories and played for almost an hour starting at 7:30.  New Mult came on around 8:45 and played 2 hours.  There was a pile of posters sitting out on a table that were highly unlikely to sell out.  I saw people come back to their seats carrying them during the encore.

Everyone's voices sounded really good and blended well together.  Jim was having fun on bass and played to the drummer a bit.  The crowd showed respect and was didn't yell out much at all......  Except a few hoots and hollers during Revolutionary Mind, that caused Jim to almost crack up laughing.

Good meeting some forum folks last night.....Go4it, Mr. Whip, Sass, Jane.  Hopefully our paths will cross at future DC area and MMJ shows.  From my seat I could see Jane about a foot away from Jim smiling pretty big when The Way That He Sings started.  That was cool.

Definitely go to the show if you're on the fence.  You will be glad!

At the table next to me and Jane, there was a guy and his wife in the front seats closest to the stage. HE FELL ASLEEP SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE SET. When he wasn't sleeping, he was on his phone.

Ali and I were giving that guy the stink eye all night. I really didnt like his comments about Bobby's music. He felt a need to comment loudly right before every song about how he had a miserable life. I really dont get people like that.

Yikes. How did I miss that? Too busy looking at the lap steel guy's feet, I guess  :P

the group went on around 9 played the whole way through the album then each one played a solo song. they then played about 5 more songs all together ending around 1045/11. so about a 2 hr set.

This is exactly the same as the PDX and SEA shows were, fwiw.
My jacket's gonna be cut slim and checked

Sounds like at great show at the Birchmere guys!  Turned out I didn't need to work last night but the show was sold out.  Of course the show I had a ticket for, Philly, I can't get off work.  Karma in da butt.

Have a good one in Philly tonight boys.

Thanks Val.  Gonna feel a bit strange not seeing you at a NYC show.  :(

You'll be there in spirit with us though, and I'll raise a glass in your honor at the Villagepourhouse.
"Where's Jim going?"

GO4IT

As you've already heard, we were treated to a great show at the Birchmere last night.  More rockin', loud and jammy (towards the end) than I was expecting.

Jim delivered a wonderful Wonderful and rocked out with the rest on TWTHS.  Ms GO4IT couldn't stand sitting any more upon hearing the latter tune (must have been all that conditioning in the pit at MMJ shows ;)) and jumped up to start dancing.  I was half expecting her to rush the stage while everyone else was seated but thankfully she spared me the embarrassment and danced toward the back of the venue.

It was great meeting Jane, Sassbox, MrWhippy and APR.  And thanks to MrWhippy for introducing me to some of his friends (Nick, Laura and Holly - I think I got the names right) as I had to rush out of the venue at 5:30 to rescue my wife and friend who had broken down on the way down from Columbia.  They saved us some prime seats and we enjoyed their company during the show.  Thanks again!!!

Enjoy the Philly show tonight!

My pleasure, Rob, glad that worked out.  My friends (whose names you got right) road tripped up from Raleigh for the show.

With you having to rescue your wife, I didn't get to talk to you that much before the show.  Maybe we can have more pregame time at Forecastle or Newport.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

You definitely want to get a raincheck for some quality Rob and Terri time!

??? (it is Terri, right? I can't believe I keep spacing Rob's wife's name!)  ::)

You've got the Ms right, jYac, minus one "r".

I was so busy trading MMJ stories with Nick I didn't realize his clan had traveled all the way from Raleigh (of course with my rescue figured in, and traveling from my home in Western Howard County, I probably put in as many miles as he did that day but it was well worth it!).  Nice young man and hope to see him again at Forecastle.  He claims to have seen me at one of the 3 T5 shows I was at - I hope it wasn't the ISM show that I, er, overindulged at with a soon-to-be relative, a bachelor party of sorts. :-X

Yeah, MrW, we'll be doing the full deal at Forecastle and Newport so we're looking forward to much more quality time with you and the other forum faithful!

In the meantime, enjoy this video from last night - Talking Empty Bed Blues....
