Just received estimate for $3000 work on the house, due to a mold issue in our attic, so Forecastle just got a whole lot farther away.  :(

Sorry to hear that,  Johnny. I was looking forward to meeting your wife and returning the hospitality you showed me back in December. Sometimes being a responsible adult kind of sucks.

I'll probably be in the same boat.  We need to completely rebuild our garage and the front steps need to be redone.  I feel your pain!

Don't count me out yet.  I could arrive Saturday around 10 am and leave Sunday afternoon.  With Southwest points I have currently, and if I can find someone to share my room at Galt (2 queen beds), total would be under $400 for a day and a half in Louiville with you fine people.  Seems a bargain to me.  Just bitchin' out loud, and looking for sympathy, I suppose.  ;)

We got an $18,000 estimate for the mold in the basement of the house we're buying. However, that's built in to the offer. After seeing what this costs, I feel bad for you and pray it never recurs after I own the place.

How could anything be closer than the rail?  The last forecastle there was a pit that ran from one end of the stage to the other and probably 40 ft back.  You had to have VIP for access.

That sounds awful. I haven't been to many different festivals, is it common to need a VIP ticket to get on the rail?  ::)

usually there's a VIP viewing area (maybe side of stage or raised area off to the side) and then there's the PIT...i've never been to a festival where the PIT is the VIP area...maybe it's common..
