I'm actually kinda glad I haven't heard half the bands on this lineup. Gives me something to do for the next four months.

I have started a thread in the other music for exactly this reason-  a place to comment and discuss over the next few months.   Cranking Wax Fang - La La Land right now

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

I would love to join Thurs but being gone 4 nights is impossible.   I was waiting to see the lineup under the theory I may come Thurs and scoot out Sunday if that day didn't look fantastic.   But Sunday is strong and Wilco is a must-stick-around-for, so flying out Mon and therefore no Thurs   :( :( :(
Don't worry, you're not alone.  I haven't booked flights yet but will do Southwest out of Manchester Friday and back Monday.  I've got a free one-way flight with Southwest, so... I let you know the deets.

if I see the schedules correctly, are you looking to change in BWI?  If so I can meet you there and fly the 2nd leg together.   Let's take this up via email before we get told to "get a room" again

I've heard something about the boys on the Bell of Louisville the info from the source sounded legit,,,how insane would that be and could this be the "more roll call announcements coming"?
Y'all got any disco ball back there?

Damn. That would be awesome. It would also sell out in 3 seconds.

Maybe Jim is returning the favor to the jazz band, them two groups on a riverboat on a hot summer night in loiusville sounds sounds like a Louisville Fairytale!  Ok I'm done getting too excited about the possibilities.

I'll believe that when I see it. The belle is tiny and they played at the mother effin Yum center
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

from a friend who was said even the PRETTY LIGHTS show was small on the boat, a jacket show with that limited attendance seems almost unfair...to everyone else who wouldn't be there.

but say hypothetically, if one were to not buy the roll call soundcheck bundle, could said one and one's girlfriend be admitted into the "special vip entrance" guaranteed in the roll call email with only one roll call membership, bought many moons ago?

and if the answer isn't here, could someone point me in the right direction?

I think my highlight act that I was most surprised and excited to see (outside of Wilco) was Dean Wareham Plays Galaxie 500!!! :D

and happy to have a weekend in the summer when i don't have to choose between seeing mmj or wilco. THANK YOU POWERS THAT BE!  i know alady can relate to this one.  ;)

so what's the skinny on this? who's all going? how much does it cost? where should i stay? etc... don't answer those questions (i'll go look it up myself) except you can tell me where the spot to stay is (which i bet is sold out now) ?? maggie, what's your plans .. are you going? i think you should  ;)

phish announced their summer tour and after feeling super meh with the NYE run, i'm really wanting to do some different stuff this year. Jazzfest first and perhaps Forecastle too ?!!!?

brooke, check out the other Forecastle thread in the shows page for the roll call. a bunch of people are staying at Galt House, but there are lots of cheaper alternatives.  you can walk from Galt, tho.  :)

I sincerely hope Washed Out plays a humid, hazy evening set. It'll be like soundtracking my night

So, from those with past experience at whatever other event had a deal like this, what is the "soundcheck party" portion of the bundle?  Is there a meet-and-greet element to it, or just a chance to watch soundcheck with other MMJ fans?  And, this being a festival, would we expect this to be early in the day, before the rest of the main stage lineup starts playing?  Just trying to decide whether I want to jump on a bundle (or two, though my wife isn't as interested in those elements--or the pit access--as I would be).

Thanks.

I don't think there is a meet and greet or anything. They play 3-4 songs and that's basically it from what I remember people saying about it in the fall.

Also, yea I think someone said it's at 9AM.

it was pretty cool in atlanta...although i would have liked to have gotten a couple of older songs like they did in boca raton...that was sick...it was pretty laid back...they cracked a couple of jokes as to how crunk we were(considering everyone just pretty much stood there and bobbed their heads, which was very fitting) but it was pretty cool nonetheless
